Characterful, pretty, family friendly Georgian house centrally located in Wells
In the heart of the smallest city in England, this period Georgian cottage offers an ideal base for sampling the delights of Wells and exploring the surrounding countryside. It is a minutes walk from the centre of the town. The end house in a row, it unusually for a city property has a lovely, peaceful garden. The house is kept extremely clean and has gas central heating with a recently installed combi boiler. The sitting room is very spacious, with a lovely wooden floor, wood burner, wi-fi, TV/DVD player with a DVD libarary. The kitchen is well equipped. The dining room is a pretty light room with views of garden from glass door. Upstairs has a lovely double bedroom, thoughtfully decorated with a king size bed. There is also the bathroom with bath and overhead shower and twin bed room. Wells has a wealth of history, that is extremely accessible. There is the magnificent cathedral which houses one of the earliest mechanical clocks in existence. Vicars Close is the oldest continuously inhabited medieval street in Europe. The Bishop's Palace and Beggars porch are adjacent to the busy town square which has a market twice weekly. Wells itself is within easy reach of Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury and the limestone based Mendip Hills offering attractions such as Bristol Zoo, the haunted Wookey Hole Caves, the Roman Baths, Cheddar Gorge, the SS Great Britain, Clifton Suspension Bridge, fantastic shopping and so much more! There is also outlet shopping at Clark's Village in Street, 20 minutes drive away. Wells is easily accessible, close to the M5, Bristol Airport, main line train stations and has a bus station. Weeklong bookings start on Friday. Minimum four night stay during the week
