There is a courtyard around the home and stone staircases built into the terrain which makes the property interesting to explore. The home is built into the hill which makes it extra quiet and helps to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter months. The home is artfully designed inside as well as outstanding touches outside in the courtyard and throughout the landscaped exterior. You will have access to the entire home with the exception of the garage, and the private master suite which are locked off. The outside courtyard is for your enjoyment, and you can feel free to explore the outside being mindful of any guests that might be in the casita. The casita is a separate home on the 6 acre property that is located behind the main house and away from your location in the main house. Placitas is a magical area! Home to over 300 wild mustangs! A herd of 11 horses has found their way to my property, and often times you can experience their beauty as they graze nearby. It is a beautiful community nestled in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. It is a historic vaillage settled over 100 years ago. It offers peacefulness and serenity, and can be very spiritual. It is at an elevation of close to 7000 feet but it is considered to be a desert region. There are 6 acres of pinon and juniper trees and lots of birds! Very appropro is the fact that my street (Pajaro Azul) has an abundance of bluebirds and blue jays. In fact, at times the trees turn "blue" from all the birds. It is only a five minute drive to excellent hiking, running, and mountain biking trails. In the town of Bernalillo, just across the interstate, you can board the Rail Runner Express train and take a trip to Santa Fe or into Albuquerque. Placitas is only 35 minutes from the artsy, urban, nationally renowed galleries and museums of Santa Fe and just 20 minutes from downtown Albuquerque.
