Lorna Doone Cottage, Lynmouth
Description
Lorna Doone Cottage is a detached property in an elevated position overlooking the village of Lynmouth, approached via a footpath with shallow steps up from the roadside. Sleeping up to 4 guests across two bedrooms, the accommodation is arranged over three floors. The ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen/diner with electric cooker and hob, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. The space Steep stairs lead to the first-floor lounge, a dual-aspect room with a wood-burner for cosy evenings (logs provided in cooler months), a TV with Freeview and NowTv, DVD player, CD/iPod dock, and wifi. From here, an external door opens onto a covered balcony with outside seating, a lovely spot to enjoy the river views. A shower room with toilet and hand basin sits on the mezzanine level, beside a beautiful picture window. On the second floor are the two bedrooms, a double with river and sea views and a twin, plus a bathroom with bath and shower over, toilet and hand basin. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are all provided, along with a hairdryer, and a travel cot is available on request. Electricity and heating are included in the price, with central heating throughout. A welcome basket of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits or cake is left for arrival, along with basic cleaning materials and toilet roll. Outside, it's possible to pull up outside the cottage to load and unload belongings, though the property itself is reached via a pedestrian gate and footpath. A parking permit for one car is provided, valid at the nearby Upper Lyndale car park around 100 metres from the cottage gate, as well as other car parks in Lynmouth and Lynton. Sorry, no pets and strictly no smoking. The property is suitable for children, though they should be supervised when leaving as the gate leads onto the road. It is not suitable for guests with restricted mobility or wheelchair users. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 9.30am.
