If you are in a cultural mood, go and admire the work of the Bloomsbury group, take in an opera at Glyndebourne or visit a Sussex National Trust property such as Bodiam castle or Bateman's, the home of Rudyard Kipling. There is always the option of bucket and spading on the beautiful beaches of Eastbourne or a trip to Brighton to wander the Lanes.
