The village is nestled in the South Downs National Park. Wilmington is 5 miles from the historic town of Lewes and 7 miles to Eastbourne. The space From the cottage doorstep you can take a pleasant walk or energising cycle over the Downs or else wander across to the village of Alfriston, with its boutique shops and tea rooms. If you are in a cultural mood, go and admire the work of the Bloomsbury group, take in an opera at Glyndebourne or visit a Sussex National Trust property such as Bodiam castle or Bateman's, the home of Rudyard Kipling. There is always the option of bucket and spading on the beautiful beaches of Eastbourne or a trip to Brighton to wander the Lanes.
