Old restored cottage near Deauville - Country and Sea

CLASSIFICATION AS A 2-STAR TOURIST ACCOMMODATION (since December 2021) (Thank you to read well the "ATTENTION" below!) The 'Chaumette' is a typical thatched cottage with half-timbering, cob and thatched roof. It is located 'between sea and country', that is to say that it combines the advantages of the country and the immediate proximity of the beaches of Blonville sur Mer (3km) and Villers sur Mer. Deauville, its beaches, its casino, its film festival, its two racecourses are 6-7 km away. Numerous equestrian centers welcome you less than 10 minutes by car; the one in Blonville, 3km from the house, allows you to go for horseback rides on the beach. Training courses are possible at the tennis club of Blonville and at the sailing center of Villers-Blonville. Located in a small hamlet on a hill, the house is surrounded by pastures and the animals approach the end of the garden. The surrounding villages are typical, accessible through a countryside dotted with stud farms. La Chaumette was completely renovated in 2013. The first floor has 4 rooms in a row for a total of 45m2. We broke down the partitions between 3 rooms to form a long ensemble that includes: a living room-reading corner, a dining room that seats 8, and another living room arranged around a large stone fireplace. The kitchen, behind the fireplace, is fully equipped: oven, induction cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave oven, various food processors. There is a separate toilet corner. Two staircases lead to 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. Each adult bedroom has a 190*140 bed, a storage corner and a sink corner for one of them: the house can comfortably accommodate up to 4 adults. The children's room includes two single beds to easily accommodate 4 young children. The bathroom is an old room transformed to accommodate a bathtub, a shower and a separate toilet. The painted floor prohibits water games in the bathtub but keeps the old cachet of the floor accentuated by the sloping roof, the old doors and the exposed beams. Although old, the house now includes all the modern equipment: electric heating, double glazed windows, hi-fi system, wifi, alarm. Only the TV is excluded to let us enjoy evenings by the fire, card games, our books and nap time. Moreover, we have just added a ping-pong table! La Chaumette is the perfect starting point for hiking, horseback riding, biking, relaxing at the beach (5 minutes by car, 15 minutes by foot), or just relaxing in the quiet. The children will run around in the garden or in the nearby fields. ATTENTION: - minimum stay of 2 nights on weekends (except peak periods) - we give priority to weekly reservations during school vacations - there is a septic tank: no oil, chemicals, towels, tampons or similar products may be thrown in! - we do not accept pets. Reception and cleaning are provided by Marina. The cleaning is extra: we ask you 130€ and this includes the sheets (90€ if you are less than 4, or 4 including 2 young children). You can leave this amount with Marina (cash or check), or send me a bank transfer in advance (ask me).
