Small and charming picturesque house, with a garden and a shady courtyard in the traditional village Kalamaki, lying at the east slopes of mount Pelion. Perfect for 4-6 people. The two-floor building, of 120 m2, offers a warm atmosphere, combining traditional elements with modern amenities. It is at 260 meters altitude, making it cool for the summer, and only 5 minutes by car from the village’s spectacular beach. The location is ideal, for those who want to explore both sides of Pelion. Welcome! The space The house. Originating from 1830 and thoroughly restored and renovated in 1995, the house, combines traditional elements with modern amenities. The house situated in a quiet neighborhood offers absolute calm and relaxation. Built in a traditional way with thick stone walls and wooden floors, is sunny, yet due to its architecture, cool for the summer. An ideal spot for family holidays! In the basement is the living room, with a big fireplace and comfy couches. A satellite TV, a radio/cd player and of cause Wi-Fi connection makes life acceptable for children or unrepentant adults. The kitchen is also located in the basement, spacious, with wooden cupboards and convenient kitchen counter. It is well equipped, with kitchen stove, refrigerator, boiler, coffeemaker, microwave, lots of pots and pans, and kitchen utensils, as all of us adore the good food!!! A small WC with a washing machine is also located in the basement. You can reach the first floor either from the stone stairs from the patio or from the wooden stairs inside the house. Two sleep areas, a hall, and the bathroom comprise the second floor; The master bedroom, features a double bed, a vintage wooden desk, a wooden closet, a photo of Christine’s grand-grand father, and a small fireplace. The second area has a bank bed in one side, and a single bed on the other side; in between there is a chest of drawers. Finally in the hall you will find a single bed, another chest of drawers and many books, maps, travel guides in Greek and in English since except of good food we also enjoy reading and travel. A small wooden balcony overlooking the garden is the perfect spot to relax, looking at the sea through the cherry tree. Please keep in mind that this is an old country house. Although well maintained every year, minor flaws can be found. It is not luxurious and it is suitable for people who love the country life and they are not afraid of the mosquitos (don’t worry, we will provide you with anti-mosquito device) or the rare appearance of a friendly spider…. Despite these terrifying details, we can assure you, from our personal experience, that after a week your body and mind will be totally refreshed !!! The garden. The house’s patio, with the big stone bench table under the vine-draped pergola, is perfect for breakfast. It is also the best place to enjoy a quiet afternoon with a book, listening to the crickets, or have drinks, tsipouro or dinner with friends. Bay, basil, geranium and rosemary plants perfume the air and several fruit trees add color to the courtyard. During July or August you can pick up delicious fruits. And don’t forget the BBQ for the meat lovers near the handy faucet. In the garden, there is also a small storage room where we keep all the garden tools and a tank and a pump for the unlikely possibility of a water shortage in the village. Other things to note the road to the house is downhill and somewhat hard for inexperienced drivers, you can always leave your car in the parking 50 meters away. Registration details 00000411906
