Country house 2 rooms.Self catering Refúgio da Estrela for 4 people
The Refúgio da Estrela farmhouse is a small house recently renovated. It is located in the village of Aguincho, a place in the parish of Alvoco da Serra, municipality of Seia. This village is inserted in the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela, half way between Seia and Covilhã by road N231 and about 30 min from the top of the mountain. Being a family heritage, whose first restoration dates back to 1932, full of memories and affections, its original characteristics were carefully maintained, combining the rustic and the humility of the place with the necessary comfort. Through the house there are several original decorative pieces of the house, treated and recovered that show the visitor the traditions and customs of the middle of the century. XX. On the upper floor there is a rustic kitchen with fireplace (original house), a double bedroom with wardrobe and bathroom (shower cabin); one bedroom in open space with two half body beds. On the lower floor (where originally was the wine cellar and the pig shop) there is now a large living room with kitchenette equipped with essentials, dining area and sitting area with a sofa bed for 2 people and a wood burning stove. The house is ideal for 4 people, although with the possibility of lodging another one or two. It should be noted that, due to the size of the house and to avoid spoiling the original layout, there is only the bathroom upstairs. Outside there is a small lawned garden with barbecue and in the back a house of oven where are exposed the tools of carpentry of the former owner of the house. In the village there is a small café (recreational association) and a trout nursery where you can fish and eat fish, as well as an excellent stream of clear waters for good dives. There are several dining options in the surrounding area. It is a place of calm and peace, with green to lose sight of, ideal to regain strength and to take long walks. It is an essentially agricultural medium, where arable land suckers were prodigiously "stolen" by their ancestors from the slopes surrounding the village. It is a subsistence agriculture, where the bleating of the goats that graze in the fields is mixed with the chirping of the birds and the running of the waters of the Ribeira de Alvoco; where corn is milled in the community water mill, the aguardante is made in still, it also laden with memories, the wine made in old dornas. In the surroundings there are several attractions and places of interest to visit. In winter, comfortably settled in the valley of Alvoco, they quickly move to the white charm of the snow.
