Description
'Stokoe Cottage', is a period property set over 3 floor, with lots of history & character. Right in the heart of Alston Town in the North Pennines, our cottage is tucked away from the main market square along a cobbled lane. Ideal for walkers and cyclists doing the Coast to Coast route. Quiet village away from all the hustle & bustle of daily life. Great pubs and eating places near by. . The space The Cottage is set over 3 floors. On the ground floor is a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen with everything you would expect for, including large range cooker, dishwasher, fridge, toaster kettle and microwave and all the usual pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware. We have a utility room. off the kitchen, where we have a small freezer, use of washing machine & tumble dryer, also good space for storing bikes... Middle floor houses a large living room, period charm continues with original exposed stone wall and original wooden boards to the staircase, along with stunning Georgian windows, wooden shutters and window seats to take in the wonderful views. A large TV on wall, which has freeview, but you can bring your own firestick to plug in to get netflix etc... and our log burning stove is set on a large stone heath for those cold winter nights. On the top floor is a comfy bedroom with exposed stone and brick to one wall. For a good night sleep there is a king size bed, bedside cabinets and chest of drawers, plus a build in wardrobe on the landing. Off the landing is the bathroom, large corner shower , sink, toilet and exposed stone wall which makes bathroom very quirky, this has all recently been renovated. Guest access Self catering cottage. Other things to note There is a locked key box for keys,code will be given 24hrs before arrival. We do allow dogs to stay at no extra charge...
