The space Ginostra is a small, enchanting seaside village that has remained absolutely intact. Accessible only by sea, it is located on the southwest side of the island of Stromboli, at the top of a hill that connects it with the port, which has been enlarged and adapted in recent years to allow the docking of ships and hydrofoils. In winter, Ginostra has only about thirty inhabitants, but in summer the tourists who populate it are hundreds, welcomed in the ancient, typical Aeolian houses carefully restored by the inhabitants in recent years. From the port, a staircase leads to the square. Here the only two roads depart: one leads to the church and the upper part of the village, towards the Timpone del Fuoco, an extraordinary point of observation of volcanic eruptions, especially at night; the other road passes immediately in front of the "L'incontro" Restaurant and then heads towards the cemetery and Lazzaro, a favorite place for tourists to sunbathe and swim. To better savor the taste of an island vacation, we offer a room that, despite being recently renovated, retains the typical Mediterranean architecture. MONEY Bring cash, there are no ATMs or banks on the island. WATER Water is a precious commodity and as such, I repeat, it should be used in moderation and without waste. INTERNET For internet connection, I recommend that you bring a Tim or Vodafone internet key with you. We don't have Wi-Fi in the house and there are no internet points on the island.
