A stunning, historic schoolhouse in the rural lowlands of S-Iceland with a laid-back feel. Ideally located near many top natural attractions, with all amenities just a 10-minute drive away. RETREATS NB. The hall is in a house beside us—must be pre-booked through us at an extra cost. The space The house was built 1947 to serve the community as a school. It stopped being a school in 2004 and was then converted from 2 class rooms, office, library, music room and woodworkshop into guest bedrooms. It’s a truly stunning home—warm, inviting, and full of character. The bedrooms are located in the main house on the ground floor. To reach the spacious kitchen (former woodworkshop) you pass through the garden atrium—an ideal spot for gatherings. It’s fully equipped with everything required for cooking. Our indoor/outdoor garden atrium is a fantastic hangout space in summer. The hot tub sits outside in the courtyard for your relaxation. We also offer access to the community hall next door—perfect for yoga retreats or group events. We reside upstairs in the house. For private hires, we try to be away, though for retreats, we are typically present. Guest access Parking is available
