This retired goods carriage was given a full, sympathetic renovation, using salvaged resources from our reclamation yard. Its interior cladding is finished in Bauwerk Colour, one of our favoured paint brands, giving the resulting retreat its light, Scandinavian feel. The space Carriage 2’s cosy living dining area is heated by both wood-fired stove and an original cast iron radiator, making this area super snug in colder months. Its utility luxe handmade kitchen is fully equipped, original features such as the Belfast sink blending with aesthetic contemporary appliances. Off the kitchen is a stylish shower room. Like its sister carriage, this contains an antique Victorian wooden lavatory, freshly-laundered towels in natural tones, and artisan soaps by local company CLAY & Shampoo / Conditioner by La-Eva. The sleeping area contains a double bed complete with cloud-soft mattress, down duvet and warm blankets for optimum off-grid sleeping. Double back doors give onto a large decked balcony with fire pit and outdoor dining area, overlooking swans, wild geese and waterfowl on an unruffled lake.
