Northern Light Lodge - Lyngen
Description
The house is located at the foot of the majestic Lyngen Alps, and with immediate proximity to the sea. There are spectacular opportunities for skiing right outside the house door. In the period 21 September-21. March on clear evenings and nights, you will be able to experience the magical Northern Lights. In the period 18 May-25. july on clear nights, you will be able to experience the magical midnight sun. The space Lyngenhalvøya is one of the most spectacular and beautiful landscapes Norway has to offer. Lyngsalpan nature reserve was opened by the King on February 20th 2004. The area was conserved to preserve a large intact fjord area, where the vegetation is very varied and a number of waterfowl species are found in large numbers, especially during the trekking periods. Lyngsalpan is famous among skiing and hiking enthusiasts throughout the world for its unique possibilities and nature experiences for free riding and mountain tours. The ski season extends sometimes, all the way to May-June and offers great skiing opportunities under the midnight sun. Lyngen has a rich animal and bird life, among which all of the Northern-Norwegian birds of prey are represented. The fjords are also among the richest fishing areas in northern Norway and can offer great fishing experiences in beautiful surroundings, and if you are a bit lucky you can also see whales, seals and killer whales. For your winter mountain adventure you may strap on your skis right outside the house and be on your way, just follow the path right next to the house up into the mountains and from there the untouched wilderness lies before your feet. After your winter adventures you can relax while (if you’re a little lucky) watching the northern lights dance above the Sør-Lenangen fjord. The best chance to spot the northern lights are in the months of December to February. From the house you can view several of the peaks belonging to the mighty Lyngen Alps such as Store Reindalstinden, Reindalstinden, Støvelfjellet and one of the countries tallest mountain: Store Lenangstind. The house is located in an amazing area where you can fish from the nearby waterfront. In the summer you can walk in a wonderful hiking terrain. For those who enjoy the midnight sun there is hardly a better place in the world to enjoy it. The midnight sun arrives 18 May and can be enjoyed every clear night to 25 July.
