The PALE BLUE, LAVENDER, AND PALE GREEN TOWELS are for use if you are going to bleach or dye your hair while on vacation. Please do not use the nice towels in the bathrooms or the washcloths and hand towels in those bathrooms as it may bleach or discolor them. Replacement costs will be charged as follows: Towels $20 Hand Towels $10 Wash Cloths $5 This covers the items, time, gas, etc. to find and get the new towels. -----------------Items of note------------------- Please note that all items in the home are inventoried before and after each stay. While we leave some extra items for your use and enjoyment during your stay, please understand that these little extras cost money to provide and are to remain on the premises at all times so that all of our guests may use them. Please do not take them home with you. A MAXIMUM OF TWO ANIMALS are allowed (cats and dogs only unless approved via the messaging app otherwise). ALL ANIMAL GUESTS MUST BE LISTED ON THE RESERVATION. Please let us know the breed and size of animal when you are making your reservation. Please read the rules section regarding animal breed restrictions and crating. We do not allow animals to be left in the home unattended. They must be crated and left in the kitchen (tile floor) if you leave them at the home while you are out. NO EXCEPTIONS. Parking is 15 feet behind the two-story building, in the back yard. Short-term ACTIVE loading and unloading is available by the back door, but please do not block either driveway. Parking map is on site. DISCLAIMER: Florida is a humid, wet natural environment with lots of nature. Many bugs are important to our gardens and ecosystem. We use a pest control service both inside and around the perimeter of the home to keep them away as much as possible, but important pollinators are necessary for the health and growth of the gardens; however, rain forces them to seek shelter. We DO NOT offer refunds for bugs, mosquitos, lizards or spiders inside. We've not had this occur but we wanted to note it just in case. Best advice is to keep doors and windows closed, wear long sleeves especially at sunrise and sunset as mosquitoes love to bite at this time. Thanks for understanding and knowing bugs are an important part of growing food and having an ecosystem that works to stay balanced. As this property is located in a tropical climate zone, you may also encounter other wildlife on or near the property. It is possible, to see snakes, lizards, exotic reptiles, vermin, iguanas, raccoons, feral cats, coyotes, alligators, non-native primates, swans, ducks, geese, egrets, wood storks, turkeys, and other wild animals, as well as all kinds of bugs, including, but not limited to, ants, honey bees, palmetto bugs, roaches, etc. on the property. All stand-alone, homes, excluding those that are not in a condominium tower, save those in Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, and any part of any nation in the Arctic Circle, are required, by Airbnb, to notify you of the possibility that one might encounter both dangerous, and fear-provoking, non-threatening creatures. We have pest control services to deal with all of these creatures. If you come across any of them, please contact us via Airbnb’s Direct Message (DM) system, immediately. We live in the home next door and are typically available 24/7 by phone or text on the AirBnB app. We are within walking distance to downtown Lakeland, Munn Park, Lake Mirror, Lake Morton, Hollis Gardens, Barnett Park, Texas Cattle Company, the Joinery - an eclectic food court around the corner, the Magnolia Building, Lakeland Community Theatre, United Methodist Church, the Lakeland Library, Polk Museum of Art, Black and Brew Coffee House and Bistro, Patio 850, Mitchell's Coffee, Mister Fish, and so much more. The Squeeze - a free golf cart shuttle to downtown on the weekends - has stops within a block to three blocks of the home as well. Check online for their actual schedule. Florida Southern College and Southeastern University are within a couple of miles, and Polk State College and Florida Polytechnic are only slightly further away. The Detroit Tigers spring training is here in Lakeland and less than a ten minute drive north of here. Lake Hollingsworth with its wonderful jogging and biking paths is nearby, and Circle B Bar Reserve is a short drive away. Lake Hollingsworth has a beautiful walking and jogging path, and Circle B Bar Reserve has nature paths as well. Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Legoland, Orange County Convention Center, and the Amway Center are east of here. Busch Gardens, Dinosaur World, Ybor City, gulf beaches, and Raymond James Stadium (home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) are west of here. Bus service is down the street. Check for the schedule online for "The Squeeze," a golf cart ride to downtown places and Florida Southern and portions of our Local historic district typically on weekends. Sidewalks most everywhere make walking though the historic district convenient and safe. Be aware that downtown parking is free for two hours from the first time you park, so be sure to read the signage on how that works. There are pay by the spot online parking options available as well as some free parking options available after hours. Due to COVID-19 we are sanitizing the home at an extra level for your protection and ours.
