The space The entire property with the cottage is 2700 sq m. It is located in the forest in the village of Wajkow. The cottage has a partially removed attic, which creates a very good spatial effect! We accept Tourist Vouchers! Guest access Near Wajków is the town of Mielnik (4 km). In Mielnik, it is worth seeing ... • Ruins of the church at Castle Hill in Mielnik • Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary - an Orthodox temple located at Brzeska Street in the city center on a small hill. The temple was built in 1823 from field stone and brick. • The open-pit Chalk Mine in Mielnik – the only open chalk mine in Poland. The viewpoint in the form of a wide terrace is located at Duboisa. The chalk extracted here is up to 60 million years old. Visiting the mine is possible after obtaining permission from the mine manager and only with a guide. • "Uszeście" Nature Reserve - a floristic reserve established in 1985 to protect the unique xerothermic vegetation (light-loving, drought-resistant). The reserve is located between two moraine hills. The place can be reached from Duboisa and Przemysłowa streets. Holy Mountain Grabarka (about 17 km) is a place where Orthodox pilgrims have been going for centuries. Its oldest history is unknown. The mountain became famous in 1710, when the cholera epidemic raged in Podlasie. At that time, an old man in a dream was revealed that salvation could be found on a nearby hill. The faithful followed the voice of God, bringing crosses with them. They washed themselves with prayer and drank water from the spring. According to the chronicle of the Siemiatyce parish, about 10,000 people were saved from the disease. In thanksgiving to God for the miracle, a wooden chapel of the Transfiguration of the Lord was built on this site. The church was rebuilt, renovated, and embellished until 1990, when it was set on fire and burned down completely. The new church was consecrated in 1998. It is already made of brick.
