Tugela River Lodge: Main Lodge with Hot Tub

Tugela River Lodge is a pet friendly, self-catering Eco-Lodge, located on a private cattle and game farm on the banks of the Tugela River, near Winterton, KZN, South Africa. We run off solar and gas and invite guest to come and enjoy the quiet side of nature. Our lodge has access to many miles of trails for hiking, biking and running through our private game farm where one can get up close and personal with our resident giraffe. The sounds of the river are sure to put you to sleep at night! The space Ideal for group bookings, the Main Lodge sleeps a total of 14-18 people and a minimum of 6. The Main Lodge consists of the main entertainment area. It has 3 bedrooms and one bathroom, with a shower, toilet and basin. There is a king bed in the bedroom downstairs, and 2 single beds in each of the the 2 upstairs mezzanine level bedrooms. The kitchen, lounge and bar are central to this building. Two cottages are located separately alongside the Main Lodge. Each cottage has a king size bed downstairs (that can be split into 2 twin beds upon request), and 2 single beds in the upstairs open plan mezzanine level bedroom. Each cottage has it’s own en suite bathroom (shower, toilet and basin). The kitchens are fully equipped with gas stoves and ovens, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and gas chest freezer / fridges. All beds have linen and down duvets. Extra blankets are provided for winter. Swimming towels are not provided, guests are to supply their own. All of the units have wooden decks overlooking the river, outside furniture, an inside fireplace and there is a braai area at the Main Lodge. The accommodation is serviced daily by husband and wife team, Bheki and Thoko. Dishes will be washed and beds made every morning. No TV or air-conditioning... we run off solar power :) Other things to note There is a minimum booking of 6 people for this unit. Thereafter, people are added as 'extra guests' As we run off batteries you must not use the following items, or items similar to these: Portable coffee machines (Nespresso etc) Hairdryers Electric blankets Portable air conditioners Heaters Portable microwaves or stoves plates Car battery fridges or portable fridges Your own inverters or battery chargers If you plug these items into the system you run the risk of damaging our batteries, which are very expensive.
