Beautiful 18th century four bedroom former farm house situated in a secluded courtyard at the end of a private drive only 20 minutes from the Edinburgh Bypass. Converted by an award winning architect, the house is light and spacious comfortably sleeping seven people. It is in the middle of a working farm at the end of a half mile private drive. It provides an excellent base for exploring the rural tranquility of the Scottish Borders while also having easy access to Edinburgh and Glasgow. The space The highest standards of contemporary architectural design give Scotstoun Farmhouse a feeling of light and space. A double height, open plan reception/dining area has been created by removing part of the first floor. This room is overlooked by a further galleried seating area with a desk and games console. Three good sized twin/double bedrooms and a smaller single room sleep seven in comfort. There are two bathrooms (one en suite) and a shower room. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the farmhouse and also have shared access with the owners to the walled garden which is situated a few yards away. Other things to note Scotstoun Farmhouse is surrounded by cattle and sheep grazing in the fields. The Farmhouse is extremely private. It is the only accommodation in the courtyard - the other buildings are used are a tool shed and storage for the gardener. Dogs are very welcome, but because of the proximity of livestock have to be kept under control at all times.
