Brought to life again, our studio was build in late 1800's. Labor of love, as we tried to preserve all the original features of this house. 2 bedrooms, can sleep 3 guests comfortably. 1 bathroom, small kitchen, with propane stove, coffee maker, and small refrigerator. In a small, and quiet town of Bloomingdale, NY. 10 min from Saranac Lake NY, 20 min from Lake Placid, NY. Our studio is not a luxury accommodation, but more of a country farmhouse. IF YOU WILL NOT READ ALL OF THE BELOW INFORMATION, OUR PLACE MAY NOT MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. First of all we are very happy you are considering staying with us. Here is some useful information that we would love you to read before you book with us. Please, read it so you know what to expect, and make sure that this is what you like. Please, if you have trouble climbing stairs- reconsider, we have set of steep stairs and claw foot tub with shower that has pretty tall walls. Also if you traveling with kids younger then 12, please do not book with us. It's very hard to decline reservation, and we will if your kids are younger then 12. The reason is same, steep stairs. Our studio is NOT a luxury accommodation, it was build in 1883, a farmhouse, that we restored, cleaned, painted, dressed with furniture, and BASIC appliances. We spent countless hours making sure our guest house is ready to be visit. It is immaculately clean, and filled with character. It's different, and corky. It is where our family stays when visiting. Please respect our hard work, and leave it clean when you check out. Studio has two bedrooms upstairs : one with queen bed and walking closet. Second one has full bed, and small futon, TV and DVD player. No cable. Downstairs we have a small room with a desk and small futon and one more DVD player (we have lots of movies for you to watch on rainy days), no cable. We have a WiFi, it is not very strong, usually works for one device, guest used it for work and zoom meetings. Cell service is strong all around, if your carrier is Verizon. Others carriers are not so strong. Small kitchen with propane stove, pots, plates, mugs, glasses, and silverware, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, toaster, small size refrigerator. It is for very BASIC cooking. Kitchen is small, there is not much counter space, can’t cook a big dinner. Breakfast, and lunch would be ok to fix, but our kitchen is just not made for elaborate cooking. Please, take that into consideration when booking. I have some eating out suggestions, nice, delicious, and affordable restaurants in the area. Screened in porch with rocking chairs to sit, on quiet evenings. Downstairs is a small bathroom. Our bathroom has a "saloon" door, plus a curtain, instead of the door. It may not be private enough for some. There are pictures of the bathroom on my listing. Soap, shower gel, shampoo, towels, conditioner are provided. Also in addition we have a front room, with a big futon to get your outside stuff off. OUR POLICY IS NO SHOES IN THE HOUSE. We have chickens, they are very friendly, and you can visit with them and feed them food scraps, bread, vegetables (they love corn). They can be pretty noisy, but they fun to watch. Coop is located behind the studio on the kitchen side. We let chickens out of the coop at between 6.30 am and 7am, and after that they get to roam around and make their noises, they usually don't start to be loud until 8 or 9. We are rising early as well, around 6 am, we all go to work and school, Our house is located about 100 feet from the studio so we are around, mostly in the early morning, before work, and at night, but also, sometimes during the day. It is not one of those Airbnb places that you will not see the owner. Every couple of days, I like to collect the trash and recycling in the studio. Refresh towels, coffee, etc. I do that on my own time, usually when you are exploring the area. There is parking space for only one car. 10 min from Saranac Lake, and 20 min from Lake Placid. Lakes, rivers, hiking trails always close, we will give you all the information, and directions about our neck of the woods :) Being "gentle" with the studio is imprtant to us. Newly painted, and fixed is 157 years old :) Please do not move furniture as the floors are easy to scratch. No open fire, other then using stove, there is lots of candles in the studio, they are only for decoration, and scent. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING, IN THE STUDIO OR ON THE PROPERTY. Thank you for understanding. Fire and CO2 detectors are located on both floors. As well as the fire extinguishers. ATTENTION : Unfortunately our studio IS NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE. The shower tub walls are high, shower is made out of the horse trough, and sides are approximately 2 feet high. Also we have a steep stairs leading to the bedrooms upstairs, if you have trouble climbing stairs it may be to difficult for you to use the stairs in the studio as well. IF YOU DECIDE TO SHORTEN YOUR STAY WE ARE NOT REFUNDING MONEY FOR UNUSED NIGHTS. THE COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT IS CLOSED HERE ! I HAVE MENTION EVERYTHING ABOUT THE SPACE THAT WE OFFER AND WHAT CAN BE BOTHERSOME FOR SOME. IF YOU WILL NOT READ ALL OF THE ABOVE, IT MAY NOT MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. With kind regards :) Justyna. The whole studio is yours, it is separate building on the property, although very close to our house. You can reach us by Airbnb inbox messages. If you like to chat we are always happy to answer your questions and enjoy the conversation. If you like quiet and don't like to interact we will keep distance and be more then happy to respect it :) You can ask us for help any time and I will do my best to accommodate your request as soon as I can. Quiet little town, nice peple around, small elementary school up the road, views of the ADK mountains, small brook running through Bloomingdale to fish in, trails to walk on. Car is the best way around, there is no public transportation. We ask our guests to take the shoes off in the studio. Unfortunately we are not a pet friendly place. We have a little pouch of our own, she is friendly, but shy and doesn’t like to be pet it. We have chickens, that make noises. Chicken coop is behind the studio and visible from the kitchen. Our hens make a lot of noise ! We let them out of the coop around 6 am and later when days get shorter. NO OPEN FIRE (e.g. candles) other then our gas stove, is permitted in the studio. NO SMOKING policy any where on the property, please. Unfortunately our studio IS NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE, the shower tub walls are high, and are approximately 2 feet tall. We have a steep stairs leading to the 2 bedrooms upstairs.
