Moundros nest

The house is located right in the center of the medieval village of Moundros, in Livadi area, next to the church of Panagia. The well-known European path E4 passes just outside our house's door!! Nature is wonderful, rich in vegetation and visited by lots of world's hiking and climbing clubs. Nearest beaches: Plakias, Souda, Rodakino, Damnoni, Ammoudi, Preveli and Kavros-Episkopi, Rethymno. It is suitable for couples, families, but also for those who long for some quiteness and peace. The space Moundros Nest is a renovated old house, at least 200 years old. It is entirely stone built and therefore warm in winter and cool in the summer. It includes a single room kitchen and living room with a fireplace and a fouton sofa, which turns into a king-size bed and a bedroom with double bed. It has a big enough terrace - 15 sqm with an unobstructed view of the countryside, which is not seen (hidden) from the village and the residential area. There is a fully equipped kitchen with all stuff needed for making breakfast or lunch, a fireplace, air conditioning,fan heater,hot water and an independent bathroom with shower. For the use of the fireplace the house provides some burning wood for the welcoming. Additional timber than available can be covered upon agreement, at a small fee. The kitchen and bathroom are equipped with all the essentials. There is always coffee and tea,plus herbal drinks and tsikoudia (raki) as a welcome treat to our guests. Guest access All spaces are accessible and available. Other things to note Sightseeing and archaeological sites are easily accessible from Moudros, such as the Prophet Elias Rousticon Monastery (2 km), Myriokefalon Monastery (14 km), Preveli Monastery (24 km), Ancient Lappa (Argyroupoli) (13 km) or Fragokastello (35km) etc Our guests, apart from our village's cafenia ,can enjoy excellent local cuisine in taverns and restaurants of the surrounding area (more information at the Moundros Nest). The village is visited daily by a grocer and a local baker. Market and bakery are found in the village of Ag. Konstantinos (5 km). (more info in our nest.. ) The tranquility of the village is "disturbed" only during the periods of celebration, when the villagers enjoy their festivities in the well-known Cretan way.
