The Cottage is located in the village of Pennautier which is found 5 minutes drive North of beautiful Carcassonne. Pennautier has been known as such since 1781, however its history wends it's way back through the Middle Ages and Roman Occupation into pre-history. The Cathar Cottage is an attached village house on 3 floors. The ground floor consists of the entrance, kitchen and dining area, along with a full bathroom. The first floor comprises the Master Bedroom, Sitting Room, Terrace and second toilet. The second bedroom is contained on the second floor - please note there are fairly steep steps to the second floor which would not be suitable for older persons or very young children. The Cottage has free Wi-Fi. Pennautier has all the basic services within walking distance, including a newsagent, grocery store, bakeries, butcher, cafe, pizza restaurant, pharmacy, and doctor. The Chateau de Pennautier is on the edge of the village (2 min walk from the Cottage) and dates back to 1620 - a wonderful place to engage in a bit of 'wine tourism'!.
