Small Rustic Cabin
Small Rustic Cabin
Description
** Please read everything. It’s a small, rustic cabin on a homestead. The cabin is private and without a bathroom. The house bathroom has 24 hours a day access. The cabin has hot & cold water, a propane fireplace, air conditioning, a toaster, an outdoor pool in the summer, a stocked pond that the cabin sits practically on top of, a year-round hot tub, and a golf cart if the weather permits. Coffee and fresh farm breakfast are served daily—Internet is in the home only. The space The few 3-star reviews I’ve had have been because my description wasn’t read. So please read everything carefully to avoid any misunderstandings among everyone involved. I am trying to explain this the best I can. When you are here, you will be paying for the cabin. Not my home. My home is available for you to use if you need it. But I don’t pay to have a cleaning company because I would have to extend that fee to my guests. So if you are coming to visit my home, you will be disappointed if you want it to be spotless. Please- I beg you- don’t come to my house and give me a bad review because I have a sink full of dishes. We all pitch in, including my son, and get to it when possible. We have many animals. So hopefully you love them. And we don’t mind if you bring yours along with you. When you visit the cabin, think of Camping. There’s no fridge, stove, or dishes. I would have to charge a cleaning fee to have any of those items. So I keep it simple. Our cabin is so quiet. We love hosting and sharing our space with others. It brings us great joy and those who travel and need a quiet place to hang out. However, our home is not perfect. We live on a homestead, and there is always unfinished work. Sometimes, trees fall, and it takes months to clean them up. Sometimes, we have family over, and we make a mess. We’ve lost loved ones while people are staying here. We live here; we are not a hotel with staff, and we are opening our homes to others. We appreciate feedback, but typically, it’s stuff that we cannot do at the moment. Trust me; no one wishes my home had everything we could ever want more than us. But we chose to spend our time in other ways. And sometimes, we are exhausted and have to pick our battles for the day. We also have a pantry and feed a lot of people every week. We own a Granite business. Our house itself can get messy and filled with donations. We're very busy. The cabin is always clean. Please keep in mind. My place is different through the seasons. In the summer, it is lush with trees, and you cannot see the cabin from my house. In the summer, there’s a fountain in the pond. In the winter, it’s snowy and muddy. The trees are bare, and you can hear the cars on the road from the cabin. The winter wind can be brutal. It's dark at night, and we love it that way. You might want to bring a flashlight. You will need the golf cart to get to the cabin, but it doesn’t work if there’s a lot of rain or heavy snow. In the winter, you can expect to walk. It’s also wet in the spring and fall quite a bit. We also need to take the golf cart with us sometimes, and it’s not always available in the summer. But we try our best to give you access to the cart. You can also walk. But you can’t get a car back there. Please dress appropriately. The hot tub is by the house and is always accessible. It is not next to the cabin. We have robes and plenty of fluffy towels to keep you warm. I encourage everyone to read through everything and look at every picture. It is beneficial to read the reviews as well. We serve breakfast every morning. Please let me know before your booking if you have dietary restrictions, or if you don’t like to eat certain foods. I don’t have local stores like the city. We have a few but they are a lot more expensive. So I plan for my guests It rains so much in Ohio, so bring your mud boots, too. Staying here is like camping with a cozy bed, electricity, heat, and air conditioning. Our guests don't mind and love to stay here because it's peaceful and relaxing. There is wildlife and country, but it's not in the middle of nowhere. There are many small towns around that have great places to eat. Medina is 20 minutes away and there’s lots to do there. The kitchen in the cabin is limited. There’s a foreman grill and a small toaster. Guest access You will need to use a golf cart, including the bathroom, to get around. The golf cart is inoperable if we have heavy snow or lots of rain. Some say the bathroom isn't far, while others say it is. The main bathroom is always available, day or night. Guests are encouraged to enter our home and use what they need. We have a washer and dryer, kitchen appliances, a gas grill, extra blankets, and whatever a house has. We have an additional freezer and fridge space (we might have to make room, and that’s fine). Other things to note One person had trouble finding us. If you come from 224, we are in the second driveway on the left. The first house is hard to see in the summer because of the woods. So count driveways instead. We have a long gravel driveway. A flower bed with a large rock is at the end of our driveway. Our mailbox is across the street from our driveway. Our neighbor has a long asphalt driveway. Our house is a cream-colored ranch with brown shutters. There is livestock and a garden in our front yard. We own a Granite business, so there’s also Granite near our garage and a sign that says Melen’s Granite hanging on the garage.
