Description
The house is situated in a small peaceful village near Matsalu National Park. It was built in 1931 as a railway station with apartments for workers. After the last train left in 1968 the house was used as a post office and telecommunications museum. Since 2003 the house is my private property. I have been renovating it with natural materials in a creative way and some works are still in progress. There are four private rooms with 14 beds available for the guests. Room 4 accomodates 5 people. The space You are welcome to stay at Karuse former train station in case you are fond of old architecture, distinctive and artistic interior, pure nature with fresh air and animals - there are two goats and a cat in the household. This is a quiet place and ideal to relax. Kindly take this as a notice that the space is modest in a best meaning and there is no fancy hotel-style-service or equipment. Guest access Kitchen with dining room, bathroom, yard, small pond. With an extra fee it is possible to use an unique sauna. During your stay I am always happy to provide additional recommendations and information about the area. Other things to note Main reason for tourists to visit this location is Matsalu National Park with its beautiful pure nature. The coast, reedbeds, islands, floodplains, and wooded meadows are a protected bird migration area of international importance. There is also a lot of cultural heritage such as manors, strongholds, and old villages to discover.
