A Cozy Bear Cottage! Your Peaceful Escape!

Beautiful pinewood cabin on secluded 3 acres. Three (3) bedrooms (4 beds), sleeps 2-6. Close to everything in Luray; Luray Caverns, Cooter's museum, antique shopping, town, Arrowhead Lake, and the Washington Nat'l Forest. Only 1/2 mile to the river! Close to everything, but tucked away on the mountain for privacy. We both love staying at our beautiful cabin in the peace & quiet so we can focus on each other & get some fresh air. We now offer Wi-Fi!! The space A Cozy Bear Cottage is situated on three (3) secluded acres on the East side of Massanutten Mountain, located less than a mile from the South Fork Shenandoah River which offers THE BEST Smallmouth Bass fishing in the whole state of Virginia. The cabin has three (3) bedrooms and two (2) bathrooms, and it's perfect for 2 people, but we can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. Some hosts try to squeeze in too many guests, offering them the couch or an air mattress, but I don't think the cabin holds the same appeal for the one who gets the couch. So, we offer beds for 6 people as follows: Master Bedroom has 1 Queen sized bed, Guest Room 2 has 1 Queen sized bed, and the Bunk Room has two (2) Single beds stacked. We have added brand new, non-toxic memory-foam mattresses (new traditional mattresses on the bunk beds), new pillows in every bedroom, updated water filtration/softener system, and some newly stained/finished rocking chairs on the front porch (now that's some hard work). The cabin is so beautiful and we have ceiling fans in every room! Decorated with black bears throughout, see if you can count them all! The cabin now has a new deck and a brand new hot tub in the backyard! Please note that by agreeing to rent the cabin you are also agreeing to all of our policies, including our hot tub safety and use policies, as stated in our Welcome Book. Also, hot tubs can be hazardous so please supervise any children playing outside. Please note that hot tubs are unpredictable if not correctly maintained. If by chance the hot tub breaks down during your visit, please text Pete right away. We will do everything possible to fix the problem in a timely manner, however NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. Also, there is no lifeguard, soak at your own risk. Do not sit in the hot tub for over 20 minutes as you will dehydrate. We supply all guests with the following items so you don't have to: luxury amenities (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, and all-natural hand soap at all sinks throughout). The cabin offers a fully functional kitchen with oven, stove, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, and Keurig machine for that ever-important cup of joe in the morning. We do leave a few bottles of water and k-cups for your convenience, but if you want more you will have to stop at one of the stores in town. The cabin has an outdoor firepit and an indoor wood-burning fireplace (Not for use Apr-Sept). Some firewood provided for fire pit use. Stop by the small farmers' market up the street, the Country Corner (it's on the right before the turn at Cooter's Place), and make a delicious dinner in our fully stocked kitchen. Country Corner carries the freshest local produce, farm-fresh eggs, organic ice cream, and really good hot sauce. They also added some cute little goats last Spring and new baby piglets this Spring, so stop by and say hello on your way in. Cooter's Place is less than 3 miles away at the corner of US Hwy 211 and Egypt Bend Road. Stop in at 1 pm for lunch at Daisy's and a free concert (every Sat 1-3 PM) after your morning mountain hike. A Cozy Bear Cottage is about a 10-minute drive to the shopping center and Luray Caverns. Take a Right turn and drive down Main Street to find restaurants, coffee shops, and stores, but don't forget to go by the Luray Bell Tower at 8 PM for some auditory entertainment. And remember gas is a lot cheaper in Luray so don't forget to fill 'er up before you leave to go back home. You will have use of the Washing Machine and Dryer if you choose, and we provide all-natural and usually organic laundry supplies. We have septic on the mountain so only all-natural products are recommended for use at the cabin. A Cozy Bear Cottage offers a quiet and relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the DC Metro Area. I love going to the cabin just to unwind after a long week. But my favorite thing out here is a sunny morning spent with a fresh cup of coffee, in a rocking chair, on the covered front porch, just listening to the birds singing. What a beautiful and peaceful place to relax.
