Captain William Richmond House
Enjoy Bristol's working harbor area while staying in the second floor guest suite of our historic, recently-renovated 1807 home. Just steps from the Prudence Island Ferry dock, historic Robin Rug mill, restaurants, shops, and the East Bay bike path, and a five-minute drive to Roger Williams University or Colt State Park. (Situated halfway between Providence and Newport — a perfect location!) *Note: Our lovely main floor/front staircase can be rented for wedding and other photography sessions. We have recently completed renovations of the historic Captain William Richmond House, built in 1807. Our upstairs guest suite is a lovely blend of old and contemporary: all-new micro-kitchen, full bath, original woodwork, fireplace and hardwood floors. Comfortable bedroom with queen bed, plus a sunny, large sitting room with queen Murphy bed and dining area. Guests have a private entrance and stairs (steep!) up to a second floor apartment, which includes a cozy bedroom plus a spacious sitting room with Murphy bed. All-new micro-kitchen/dining area and full bathroom complete the beautiful space. The hosts have a separate entrance to the rest of the home (ground floor and part of upstairs), and will be available for questions. Because we live in the house, we ask that guests honor the quiet hours between 10pm and 7am. Thank you! *A rare commodity in downtown Bristol, we have a 2-car driveway available to our guests for off-street parking. We are typically available (we live onsite), and will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have about your stay. The Thames Street waterfront district is popular for its views and access to the harbor and many other amenities. Easily walk to local restaurants, the Prudence Ferry landing, and bicycle rentals (the East Bay bike path and Colt State Park are less than 1/4 mile away). Our home is two blocks from Independence Park -- the site of the Fourth of July summer concert series. We are one short block from Hope Street, the famed Fourth of July parade route and the heart of Bristol's historic district, with shops, more restaurants, and a plethora of 19th century homes. We provide one (or two) off-street parking space(s) in our driveway. Once here, most guests prefer to walk to Bristol's variety of shops, restaurants and activities. Also easily accessible to public transportation, we are one block from the RIPTA bus line (#60), which runs from downtown Providence to Newport. ***Guests need to be able to climb a very steep (interior) staircase up to the guest suite.***
