Mafube Mountain Retreat Garden Unit near Clarens

Mafube Mountain Retreat is a secluded guest farm about 25 minutes from Clarens and is a hikers and nature lover's paradise! It is situated in a stunning amphitheater of sandstone mountains, is child friendly and has very well defined Dinosaur footprints a short hike from the chalets. The Garden unit is a small self catering unit with one bedroom and which has space for two children sleeping in the lounge area. It is surrounded by a wilderness area and with breathtaking views from every window. The space The Garden Unit is a small chalet with one bedroom and a lounge-dining area with a fully equipped kitchenette. There is a counter-top oven, a microwave oven, a gas hob and a fridge for your convenience. It is fully self catering and no breakfasts are served. This unit sleeps 2-4 persons It has a bathroom with a shower a basin and a toilet. There are twin beds in the bedroom that can be made up as a king size bed if required and a third bed and a sleeper couch in the lounge area suitable for two children. The Garden Unit is fully self catering with its own shaded patio and braai facilities and has lovely views of the mountains to the north and the west. DStv is available in the communal Lapa area. No Tv is available in the units due to a reception problem in the area. For larger families or groups our accommodation offerings include the Rondawel, which sleeps 5 and the Contemporary Chalet which sleeps 6. The entire venue may be booked out for special celebrations, family reunions or church retreats etc. We can accommodate up to 14 people in beds and the Communal lapa (clubhouse) can be used for to host small functions. Group bookings require an additional damages deposit Guest access The Garden Unit is one of three chalets on Mafube Mountain Retreat, Each unit is situated about 30 to 50 meters from each other for privacy with their own veranda and braai facilities. There is also a communal Lapa or clubhouse for the use of all guests, which has DSTV, ping pong and braai facilities. It is situated next to the communal swimming pool and ablution facilities. Please note that there is no TV in the units due to a reception problem in the mountains On Mafube you can hike in the mountains and visit the waterfalls and caves, swim, bird watch, fish or canoe or simply unwind and take in the beautiful mountain lands of the Eastern Free State. For children there is a special plantation Playground with special swings, climbing frames and a very popular safe zip-line for children under 40Kg in weight. There are genuine dinosaur footprints on one of the cut walks and bushman paintings may be viewed by arrangement.
