One Bed: Mowbray Stable Cottage

Mowbray Cottages and Glamping nesting on the eastern edge of North York Moors National Park, is the perfect place to stay for those who love the great outdoors, as well as lovers of The Yorkshire Vet. The setting is within walking distance of the quaint market town of Thirsk. The one bedroom cottage is perfect for couples as well as those who like to bring their fury well behaved friends. Guests love to enjoy the surrounding countryside and all seem to enjoy our fresh farm eggs. The space The cottage is modern, homely and very cosy. You should find everything you need for your stay. On the small holding we used to keep pigs, sheep, goats and chickens. Unfortunately the animals have gone to make way for our 4 luxury glamping pods with hot tubs that are to open summer 2022. We still do have our hens and lovely fresh eggs and hope to get some lambs again next year. The cottages are well set back from the main road and have some lovely views of the surrounding countryside. You can enjoy watching the horses walking up and down the paddock and perhaps treat them to the odd carrot. The site benefits from being only a miles walk into Thirsk itself. Guest access There is an allocated parking spot for the one bed cottage. We may be able to provide an additional spot with prior agreement for a small additional charge as we have limits on how many total cars are allowed on site. The road is on a main bus link to Northallerton, Ripon and York. The train station is the other side of Thirsk and is approximately 2.5 miles away from the cottages. You can walk into Thirsk which is about a mile and can choose to do this either via the main roads or the more scenic route via the Beck. Parking in Thirsk itself is free for the first hour with a ticket. There are also some designated spots on the fringes with disc parking that allow 2 hours free. Other things to note The one bedroom cottage is self-contained, though is attached to the two bedroom cottage which is also a holiday home. We are pet friendly though require pets to be well behaved. We ask people to keep noise to a minimum after 10:00 p.m. We do have hens and a cockerel that stroll about the place and are likely to have sheep again next year. The cockerel (George) cannot be heard from the cottages so no early alarm calls!
