A relaxing home from home. You can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the beautiful Normandy countryside and, at the same time, have the luxury of 2 swimming pools - one indoor and one outdoor, a well-equipped games room, ping-pong table, 8 bikes available to borrow, a swing/slide and wooden playhouse. Coming soon... a boule court! Les Coudreaux is within easy reach of lots of places to visit and things to see and do... Everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The space Our charming one-bedroom gîte - Le Petit Bijou (the little gem) - is ideal for a couple or single people in search of a perfect, relaxing holiday in the beautiful French countryside. It can also welcome a small child on a fold-out bed. We have restored our barn back to its former glory. It is full of original features - oak beams, stone walls and a wonderful fireplace complete with woodburning stove. Decorated in a chic, modern country style, the lounge/dining area is beautifully furnished and also has the benefit of a TV and DVD/CD player. Free WiFi is also available. Complimenting the lovely old features are the all the essentials for a really comfortable stay - a fully fitted kitchen area complete with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven & hob - perfect for creating wonderful meals with all the fabulous French produce available on your doorstep. The bedroom is delightful - with open beams, built in wardrobe and comfortable wrought iron double bed – many of our guests say they don’t want to get out of it! Enjoy gazing at the wonderful stars through the Velux window or watching the sun come up as you luxuriate in the knowledge that another blissfully relaxing day is ahead of you. The pristine, modern, fully tiled en-suite bathroom has a bath and shower. Outside, there is a private deck and garden area complete with barbeque and garden furniture. Don't forget that you can swim in one of our two pools (indoor heated or outdoor solar heated) Both pools are shared. Guest access We want you to have a fantastic holiday and offer the following amenities which we hope will help make your holiday a relaxing and memorable experience: Our pool, of course! Heated to a balmy 28 degrees celsius and open from Easter until the end of October. Please note, the pool is shared with guests in our 4 person cottage. It always works really well though! The games room - everyone loves it! There is a table football, snooker, darts, some outdoor games e.g. petanque and lots of books and board games to borrow. Welcome drink - Start to enjoy your holiday the moment you arrive! Complimentary starter hamper - All the basics to get you going. This includes tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate, biscuits, fresh baguette, butter, jam, milk, eggs (from our hens) and, of course, this being Normandy, a bottle of cider! Unwind after a great day out in your private garden overlooking the beautiful French countryside and fire up the barbecue for a delicious dinner Fancy a lie-in? No problem, let us have your order the evening before and we'll bring your freshly baked croissants and baguettes straight to your door! (Please note there is a small daily charge for this service and you will, of course, have to pay for the goods) Don't fancy cooking every night? You can choose a 3 or 4 course meal - all lovingly prepared by us and served to you in the privacy of your gîte There are some great cycle rides on the doorstep - so "get on your bike" and enjoy the beautiful, rolling Normandy countryside - stopping, of course, at a local bar for some refreshments! (Bikes are available to borrow) There are so many amazing things to see and do for example, the World Heritage site - Le Mont St Michel, Fougères, Bagnoles de l'Orne (a spa town) and the D-Day Landing Beaches - too many to list them all here! Other things to note Please note that our changeover day is usually Saturday. Arrival time on Saturdays is from 4pm. Departure time the following Saturday is 10am. We are delighted to accommodate shorter stays outside of the school holiday periods.
