BRAND NEW! Fully renovated in the spring of 2021. According to the Pultneyville Historical Society, the first school, a small crude building, was built on this site in 1808. It burned in 1816 and was replaced by a larger schoolhouse. The cobblestone building was built in 1845 and served as a school until 1943 when the Williamson School District centralized. It is now a private residence. Notice the cobbles set at an angle. A metal bar circles the building as reinforcement — a modern addition. This historic cobblestone building has been fully renovated and everything within the stone walls is BRAND NEW. Jamie and Jason chose to rehab this property in 2021. This was once known as District #1 and Jamie's grandmother went to grade school here. There are even photos of her Grandma sitting at her desk, in this schoolhouse, hanging on the walls! The renovation started with gutting the house right down to dirt floor in the basement. Everything from the walls to the plumbing, electric, and the HVAC are now brand new. The construction / rehab project took a little over 13 weeks to complete. There is an entryway / addition with a washer and dryer, storage, and a table and four chairs. This is a great space for morning coffee and evening cocktails! This space also houses a small workspace for a laptop, complete with USB outlets. This space is unique because it has exposed cobblestone on two of the walls! From the addition, you will enter the original one-room schoolhouse. You'll immediately notice all of the GORGEOUS natural light flooding the space from five gigantic windows. These large window spaces were original to the schoolhouse and we outfitted them with new custom windows that open and have screens. The windows sills are extra-generous at nearly 16 inches deep. Inside the schoolhouse, you'll find a brand new kitchen complete with all utensils you'll need to prepare meals. There is a brand new refrigerator, electric stove and oven, microwave, and even a dishwasher! The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, drinking glasses, wine glasses, silverware, a coffee maker (drip and k-cup), moka pot, espresso cups, and even a selection of bar and cocktail tools. There are also four barstools in the kitchen. From from the kitchen, you overlook the living room and large 65" smart TV. Here you'll also find a large mantel that was once a hand-hewn beam supporting the original floor. Opposite the kitchen and living room are two well-appointed queen bedrooms. Each bedroom comes equipped with premium memory foam beds, linen duvets, nightstands, 43" smart TVs, wall sconces with switches next to the bed, and USB outlets for charging your tech items. Between the two bedrooms is a large bathroom with sink, toilet, subway tile shower, and exposed brass plumbing. We offer premium bath products and provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toilet paper. The outside space offers a small bistro set in front of the house to watch the cyclists, motorcycles, and classic cars that pass-by all summer long. We have a small lake stone patio in the back with a table and four chairs. While our yard is small, it provides privacy, shade, and some sun. You will find yourself just a few hundred yards from the Pultneyville Deli Co. where you can you get coffee, breakfast sandwiches, lunch, and dinner! They also have a small bar upstairs that serves beer and wine on the weekends! Around the corner from the deli is the Pultneyville Landing. This building houses the Pizza Stop and an art gallery. Next to the landing is another property that we own. It houses a residential apartment, Jamie's IT office (itClix), a day spa, and another Airbnb (the Salmon Creek House). Make sure you schedule an appointment to get massages and facials while you're here! Body and Face by Kristin Pultneyville is HIGHLY recommended and a very short walk from the School House! You can also walk to the Pultneyville Yacht Club and Mariners Club from the schoolhouse. Please note that the beach is a private club. Our guests cannot use the beach unless they have a membership or visit with a current member. The entrance to the Cornwall Preserve walking trail is at the end of Hamilton Street Extension (between the School House and the Deli heading north). Here, you'll have awesome views of the lake and it is a great place for an easy hike. Sodus Point Beach and plenty of restaurants are a short 15-minute car ride East! You will also find that you are in the middle of Apple Country and surrounded by orchards. Along with the orchards comes plenty of farm stands with fresh produce. There are also a couple of wineries, a cidery, and a distillery in Williamson. We highly recommend Young Summer, Boom Point, Embark, and Apple Country Spirits. If you're interested in fishing, we have access to almost a mile of private fishing property on Salmon Creek. We also can get you in touch with multiple fishing charter captains and reccomend Stingray Fishing Charters and Dandy Eyes Charters. Guests have access to the entire property with the exception of the white shed in the backyard. We prefer to give you privacy with self check-in, however, we are only phone call or text away should you need assistance. Pultneyville is a hamlet full of historic charm. It has plenty of connections to the underground railroad, the War of 1812, and sunken shipwrecks. The Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society museum is open on the weekends and provides a glimpse of Historic Pultneyville. There are plenty of orchards and lots of fresh fruit surrounding the community. You'll find walking trails, disc golf courses, and snowmobile trails nearby. There are also two large town parks (B. Forman Park and the Williamson Town Park). Please contact Jamie if you would like more details! Pultneyville is a very walkable and bikable community. However, there is no public transportation and limited access to Uber. No smoking. No pets No parties. Only two cars in the driveway -- this is non-negotiable as we must adhere to an easement agreement. We have awesome neighbors -- please be respectful of them.
