Small, fine, bright apartment in the green with sea views On the edge of the UNESCO National Park Cilento, borgolecaselle is located in the midst of a fascinating mountain landscape with clear traces of traditional agriculture and livestock farming with a wide view of the “golfo di policastro”, which is protected by a steep, unspoilt coastline with familiar bathing bays. Fortunately, we are still surrounded by the gentle sound of goats (capra cilentana), cows and sheep, supplied with natural products from small farmers from an almost forgotten world. The wide municipal area of Tortorella includes different vegetation zones between 50 and 1480 m, which still offer pastures to the shepherds depending on the season. The largely untouched and surprisingly green hinterland invites hikers with a scouting spirit to extensive explorations of natural beauties: old holm oak / beech forests, bizarre karst rocks, deep gorges and grottos with clear streams and drinking water sources, on old mule trails with rare flowers and herbs. The wolf, the wildcat, the otter and the like. a. still belong to the long-established tribesmen, glow worms and frog concerts often accompany sunset and clear starry sky. Borgolecaselle consists of two restored stone houses and a small house newly built in 2018, the Casa dei Nonni. The apartment offered here is on the upper floor with windows in all directions. The apartment has a small bathroom with a large shower, sink and toilet, hairdryer and window. Towels are available. In the spacious entrance area there is a table with two chairs, behind it there is a fully equipped kitchenette with double hotplate (ceramic), kettle, oven, fridge with freezer ... A spacious closet separates the sleeping area, which contains a double bed (150 cm wide). Washer and dryer can be used free of charge. Board games and a library are intended for general use. In front of the house there is a terrace with 2 deck chairs and a table with chairs and a parasol. The entrance area is surrounded by herbs, roses and wine. A parking space for your car is in the immediate vicinity. The hosts speak German, English, French and Italian, and are happy to advise you on your explorations and hikes. Vegetables and herbs from our vegetable garden are available to you in season, we organize fresh chicken eggs from our neighbors. Borgo Le Caselle is far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, at an altitude of 680 m, in a small hamlet in the municipality of Tortorella, Gulf of Policastro, with rocks and holm oak forest in the back and an unobstructed view of green hills and the sea on the horizon. The 6000 sqm site on a hillside is oriented to the southwest. Generous open spaces invite you to linger, hiking trails start right at the house, swings and a tree house want to be conquered. With our neighbors, farmers and shepherds, you can stock up on local products such as ricotta, vegetables and eggs. In the medieval village of Tortorella you will find small alimentari, a pharmacy, two bars and a post office, the sea at Villamare can be reached in 25 minutes.
