Charming lakefront home built in 1903 as a boys gymnasium, converted into 12 separate apartment units in the 1950's. This one bedroom unit, is located on the 2nd floor with spectacular views. Originally a gymnasium for a boys' school, this charming 12-unit apartment complex, sits on a spacious lakefront lot on Lake Steilacoom (close to 1 acre property), in a residential neighborhood. This unit is on the 2nd floor, no elevator and can sleep 3 comfortably. It has a bedroom with a Queen bed and 1 bathroom. Unit has a living room with a small kitchen and dining area. The living room has a sofa that converts into a double bed. This unit has fantastic views and all the comfort of a home. No elevator. The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas stove, toaster, coffee maker, microwave and a fridge. Basic cooking necessities (oil, some spices) are provided for your convenience. There is a deck, on the 2nd floor right outside the unit with amazing views. Kayaks and a canoe can be used to relax on the lake and watch the sunset or get some exercise. There is a lot of wildlife to enjoy on the lake, it is open for fishing during season. You may enjoy seeing ducks and eagles as you enjoy the lake from the dock. Guests have access to and use of: 1) A deck off the 2nd floor 2) A coin operated laundry facility on site. Laundry supplies are provided in the unit or requested. 3) A community barbecue 4) A fire pit by the lake (wood may need to be purchased if not available) 5) Private dock for our tenants and guests 6) Back grass area 7) Canoe, Kayaks, paddle boat, life jackets. 8) Books and games located on the 3rd floor hallway Our co-host/apartment manager live on the property and will provide you with a tour of the facility and answer any questions you have. Our place is very close, within walking distance, of Lakewood Towne Center with restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, movie theater, and shopping. 7.5 miles to Fort Lewis/McChord Air Force base. 10.8 miles to Tacoma Dome, America's Car Museum, the Museum of Glass, and Point Defiance Zoo. 30.2 miles to Sea-Tac Airport 42.2 miles to Seattle 53.8 miles to Mt. Rainier National Park Parking is available. The sounders train station and Metro stops are close by. Having a car is however the best and convenient way to travel.
