River Test house & gardens, Whitchurch - The Lawn

The Lawn, formerly home to Lord Denning, is a privately owned property in the heart of Whitchurch, Hampshire. Accommodation is available to sleep 16. Perfect accommodation for visitors to the Bombay Sapphire Distillery. We also often have guests attending local weddings (eg. Clock Barn). The kitchen & dining room are recently (Feb 2023) refurbished. The space The house is set in one of the most beautiful gardens in England with the River Test running through it providing a unique fishing experience. The gardens are extensive and provide a perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Guest access Guests are able welcome to use the garden and between April 1st and 1st October can fish* the famous river test, as long as you possess a fishing license. We also have a croquet lawn which can be used by arrangement. Inside the property guests have access to a kitchen and dining area for self catering purposes. There are 3 wood burners for which we can provide logs. * extra fee applies Other things to note Catering can be arranged with a number of options available. A private chef or cook is one options or we can also arrange to have some dishes ready for you to put in the oven when you arrive. Just ask!
