1893 Victorian - The Red Room at the Mure House

The space CLEAN - We want to you to feel completely safe, at home and comfortable during your stay at the Mure House. And so, between each guest, we don't just do a "hotel wash" of the sheets. We actually strip the bed down and wash the mattress pad, comforter, blankets and double wash the sheets, pillow cases and pillow covers. SECURE - We have monitored codes to gain access to the Mure House and we have security cameras and security lighting. It is important to us that you feel completely safe during your stay. CONVENIENT - We are fortunately located at a spot that is convenient to everything you could possibly need. You can walk to well over a dozen restaurants and bars for breakfast, lunch and dinner (including vegetarian restaurants as well as meated restaurants). Other conveniences that are a very short walk away include: a local grocery store, drug store, hospital, dry cleaners, local live acting theatre, hot yoga, park, and play ground. Perfect place for your Game Day visit - you can walk to the stadium from here, yes it is a huff but certainly walkable and I have done it many times with my kids. Plus, you can relax on the front porch and watch all the game day traffic walking or driving down Prince Ave. So book Friday and Saturday so you can enjoy all the festivities. Come early and breath in Athens. Your room is situated on the border of the Cobham historic district and Normal Town/Boulevard. You are just a few short blocks away from Athens legendary restaurants such as The White Tiger, The Grit, Maepole, Ike and Janes, Agua Linda, HiLo, Automatic Pizza, Taqueria Del Sol, Half Shepherds, Sea Bear, Viva and many more . You are also just a short walk to get to the Foundary, Normal Town Bar and downtown Athens. Sips or Hendershots coffee shops/bars are a few short blocks away. The best steaming hot and bacon smelling breakfast joints are just around the corner. Walk to Ike and Jane's for hot breakfast sandwiches and fresh pastries, the Bread Basket for awesome country biscuits and breakfast plates, Dunkin Donuts and of course Krystal's with a fresh 3 shelled-egg, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of toast and grits all for $5.00 (the home owners favorite). Want a massage or spa treatment? 2 blocks away is the Urban Sanctuary or, a little bit further of a walk is the Foundary. You can easily walk to downtown venues like the Melting Pot, Classic Center, 40 Watts, Creature Comforts Brewery or the Georgia Theatre and walk or Uber back home. Guest access There are more rooms that can be rented out separately - some even have kitchens. This room has a dedicated private bath located on the first floor. There is a private stairway to get to the private bath so it is very discrete. Your room is equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker. Feel free to lounge on the front porch, plenty of seating, or enjoy the porch swing. There is also seating available on the upper back porch. Other things to note All of the rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator.
