The Black Monarch was re-built after a fire in 1899 as a brothel, casino, and saloon. It is a storied slice of Victorian era Americana , nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountain gold rush city of Victor, Colorado. The building is exquisite in its design and well preserved with original windows, doors, tin ceilings, and stairs. Local legend states that the building is haunted by the ghost of a miner who died in a gunfight, and was originally wired by electrical genius Nikola Tesla.
