Cottage with a dream location

This charming cottage is situated on an island with the living room overlooking the estuary. There are sleeping possibilities for five people: one bedroom with a bed and a loft with three comfortable bed mattresses. There is one bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a washing machine in the cottage. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the rich nature that the island gives. Explore it by foot or bikes. The space The nature on the island offers many things. Sandy beaches, deep forests and beautiful fishing areas are all within walking distance. The fishingwaters are rich in perch, trout and pikes. Åstön is an island with a lot of history. For example, it used to be a military base back in the days. It has left a huge network of roads all over the southern part of the island which makes it perfect for daily walks or bike rides. During summer there are many events and happenings in the area. Åstödagen - the day of Åstön is a big crafts market with different stands held in the old fishing village of Skeppshamn that brings hundreds of visitors each year. The last Saturday of July is also a big day with even more visitors, as a huge caravan of old and new wooden boats pass by in the canal. It's called Träbåtens dag. On the evening of the last Saturday in August all the houses light up garden candles, pitch torches and fires at 9pm by thier shorelines and at 10pm there are fireworks in the outer part of the canal. Guest access You are welcome to enjoy our garden areas and private boat bridge. You will have free access to the sauna and jacuzzi. The sauna is heated with wood. You need to buy wood, it is available at the gas station. My neighbor also sells wood. A sack of wood costs 100 SEK You will have your own private BBQ area. Charcoal and lighter fluids are not included in the rental. Other things to note Please note that the closest grocery store, ICA Nära, is located a 15 minute drive away. Whether you are coming from the north or south, you will pass it en route to the cottage. The nearest liquor store is located in Timrå, a 30 minute drive from the cottage. If you are coming from the south to visit us, you will pass Timrå on your drive. Other options for you are Sundsvall, Birsta or Härnösnd up north.
