The Cartlodge - a cosy winter retreat!

Stylish, light, and relaxing space, nestled amidst a peaceful garden and orchard, with a summerhouse, firepit, bbq, hammock, and lots of space for alfresco dining. An ideal summer or winter retreat! Why not escape to your very own bolt hole in the country. The Cartlodge sits in the grounds of a 16th Century Manor House, in the peaceful village of Tacolneston, near the thriving, historical city of Norwich. The space The Cartlodge is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside of Norfolk, strolling round one of the nearby historical market towns or taking a trip into Norwich city, with it’s stunning castle, cobbled streets and cafes, coupled with the impressive Chapelfield and Castlemall shopping centres. Or simply use the time to relax outside the cartlodge on your patio with a glass of wine and a good book. Enjoy the pretty garden and bountiful orchard, alive with the sound of birds, woodpeckers, muntjacs, and pheasants. The Cartlodge is well equipped with a shower room and compact kitchenette on the ground floor and a larger open plan sleeping and living area on the first floor, with Freeview and Netflix TV and good Wifi . Outside, there is a patio, chiminea, bbq, and seating area overlooking the front garden. To the rear is the secluded orchard with more seating, a lovely summerhouse and a comfy hammock. Although not far from The Manor House, the Cartlodge has a great sense of privacy and comfort. Guest access Guests are very welcome to use the orchard and gardens, there are plenty of tables and chairs dotted around the grounds, feel free to move them to your favourite spot! There are some lovely walks from the property, across the fields or down village lanes, please ask if you are unsure where to start. Other things to note - The kitchenette is compact but well equipped with a mini fridge/freezer (larger fridge in the cart bay also) electric plug in double hob, mini oven, air fryer, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetière, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, pots and pans etc. If there if anything else you need, just ask! Finding us: The Cartlodge is up a private shingle driveway, off Norwich road in Tacolneston, on the left if you’re coming from Norwich. There is a small sign at the driveway entrance saying ‘60-72’ (look for our neighbour’s larger sign saying ‘74’ and we are the next turning!) At The Manor House sign, take the RIGHT hand fork and follow the signs for The Cartlodge which is up at the top.
