Large bay windows offer lovely views of the Lamoille River. The apartment is only a few steps from several popular restaurants. A gym is located a block away. A food co-op and grocery store are within easy walking distance. The Hardwick Trails, six miles of woodland hiking, are less than half a mile away. World-reknowned brewery, Hill Farmstead Beer, is in nearby Greensboro. Caledonia Spirits distillery, with its tasting room including its top-shelf gin, is just down the road. Local swimmable lakes include Caspian Lake, Wolcott Pond and Green River Reservoir (also with non-motorized boat access). The rental is within easy driving distance of local ski resorts and near to Stowe, Greensboro, Smugglers Notch, and Montreal. It is also located near longer hiking trails, including the Appalachian and Long trails, mountain biking trails, canoeing and kayaking, cross-country skiing, and lots of good antiquing. The Village of Hardwick has become known as a sustainable food center, and was featured in the book, "The Town that Food Saved," by Ben Hewitt. Small food producers, such as the Cellars at Jasper Hill cheeses, Vermont Soy products, Pete's Greens, High Mowing Seeds, and the Vermont Food Venture Center cluster in and around the town.
