The space The privileged location of the village of Monsaraz, situated on the top of the mountain and overlooking the Guadiana “Dam do Alqueva” and the border with Spain, where you can enjoy a protected and internationally certified area, registered as a Dark Sky reserve, or “Starlight Tourism Destination”, has made it highly attractive for a unique and unforgettable experience. In addition to its history since 1167, when Monsaraz was conquered to the Muslims by Geraldo Sem Pavor, you can enjoy the plains, nature, Dark Sky, the great lake of Alqueva, all the local habits and customs, as well as the largest and best selection of national wines, CARMIM, ESPORÃO, ERVIDEIRA... In the gastronomy, the migas, the gaspacho, the lamb stew, the pork to the Alentejo, the soup of beldroegas, the coentry trees and the soup of the cation are some of the dishes very appreciated in the region. Among the snacks we find the gizzards, the chorizo and sausage, the pork ear, the curls, the towers and the ham. Accompanied by a good Alentejo red wine make the delights of those who taste these delicacies.
