Tiny cabin built on the edge of the woods that are part of Welsummer Camping. With its own backyard view into the woods, cosy wood burning stove and campfire area. The space Wendy’s house is tucked into a corner on our beautiful campsite just on the edge of the woods that adjoins our gardens. Wendy’s house is around 17 sqm inside separated into two adjoining spaces. One comprises an antique iron, double (130cm) bed with soft mattress and warm clean bedding. The other space offers a sofa, the wood burner and a desk. Warm your space with the little wood burner on which you can pop a kettle or warm some soup. It’s gets nice and cosy in here :) A cupboard filled with dining and outdoor cooking gear and a new outdoor covered dining area completes the basics necessary for a practical stay. We can provide a bbq grill, campfire and camping gas stove for your convenience with a place to use it under cover. Wendys House is Off Grid but there are USB battery lamps. There are 4 windows and a back door to the woodland balcony. The bathrooms and facilities are a short 30 metre walk across the little meadow ( CURRENT: winter - Sept - April) The campsite bubbles with families and laughter during the busy holidays and settles down to complete peace on weekdays. Out of season when there are no campers, share the space only with up to 2 other cabins, the pheasants and the local wildlife as well as us and the family pottering around on one project or another. The facilities (Loos showers washing up, hammock deck, kitchen and covered lounge) are just 20 metres from the cabin. The space behind the cabin offers an area for outdoor cooking and dining with a great view into the woodland from the rocking chair on the little balcony. The property is around 7 acres including meadow woods and orchard and you are welcome to discover and relax in any of the areas open to campers. Please note there is no Wi-fi but 4g networks are mostly good. Main parking is in the field away from the car free spaces but most of the time there is a space just behind the cabin to park your car if you don’t mind looking at it! It is also a good place to unload your stuff. Firewood for the campfire is not included but can be purchased on site. Firewood for the inside wood burner is included in winter only. Extras to be booked with us at least two days in advance: Home cooked dinner - Delivered to your cabin at a time of your choice. Choose from curry or couscous, or burritos, with sides - £12.50 per person. All meals vegetarian. Vegan is no problem too, just let me know. Guest access The property is around 7 acres including meadow woods and orchard and you are welcome to discover and relax in any of the areas open to campers. There is a covered shelter and lounge outside reception where you can charge a device, use the fridge or purchase hot and cold drinks. We also offer our own free range eggs, honey and produce from the garden when in season! Other things to note For an off grid experience the cabin has no electricity, toilets or water inside. The water tap, bathroom facilities and electric points are only 50 metres from the cabin. There are battery lamps inside the cabin. Water in the bathrooms and washing up sinks is hot and pressure is good. The Kitchen cupboard is located at the facilities 'Hub' Here you can find all of your crockery and cooking gear for use on the fire. There is also a 1 burner gas stove for the kettles.
