Sofiahuset with fjord view - 30 min from Bergen

The Sofia House has belonged to our family since 1908. The house has been renovated in recent times but we have taken care of the old quirky and history of grandma Sofia. The house is conveniently located, only 30 miutes driving time from Bergen city centre. 40 minutes to Bergen airport Flesland. The place is an ideal starting point for mountain hikes, to explore Bergen and the fjords, or only enjoy peace and tranquility and fjord views on Norway's largest inland island. Flåm, Voss, Hardanger and Trolltunga are in day trip stand. The space The house is located in beautiful surroundings with 180 degree views of Sørfjorden. It has some old original parts combined with modern facilities such as a new bathroom and kitchen. The best thing about the house is the large terrace in the front. Perfect for outdoor breakfast, or barbecue evenings when the weather allows it. The house is an important part of our family's history. You can read this story in the information booklet you will find upon arrival. Guest access All guests will have access to the entire house and the garden. The terrace is equipped with a charcoal grill, and in the garden there is a fireplace with benches. In the outhouse next door you will find garbage sorting, charcoal, lighter fluid and wood for free use. There are also a few fishing rods and devours if you want to fish in the fjord. Guests have parking space for 2 cars. The spaces are located by our private house (no. 166) which is by the road. There is also EV charger available without charge (feel free to bring your own cable). Other things to note It is about 50 meters to walk on the path from the parking lot and down to the house. The trail is steep and not very well suited for wheeled or high heels It can also be slippery if it is wet. In the shed we have a couple of chickens and a rooster. They provide fresh eggs for breakfast, but the rooster may make some noise. We recommend that you have your own car/ rental car available when you stay with us, as there is no grocery store or restaurants within walking distance.
