The house is located in an excellent prime location only 80m from the beach promenade and the kilometer-long Baltic Sea beach Laboes. The fine sandy beach with shallow water zones offers children an ideal bathing paradise. It is also only a few minutes' walk to the port of Labo and the indoor seawater pool. The splendid view of the Kiel Fjord will delight you on your holiday. You can safely store your bicycles with us. A private parking for your car and a bicycle rental are available. We rent all year round! Laboe The idyllic Baltic resort of Laboe (about 5500 inhabitants) is picturesquely located at the exit of the Kiel Fjord on the eastern shore. The former fishing village has become a popular holiday and seaside resort. Laboe is an ancient place and was first mentioned in documents in 1240. The name Laboe is derived from the Slavic "Lubodne", which means "swan place". And even today, the swan is the heraldic animal Laboes. The long, fine sandy beach slopes very flat towards the fjord, so it is especially recommended for families with small children. With the Kiel Fjord, one of the most frequented waterways in the world, on your doorstep, the "beach life" offers a special attraction also for "sailors", who can observe the passing ships extensively. The panorama of Laboe is visibly surmounted by the world-famous 85 m high naval memorial. This memorial commemorates the fate of all the people who remained at sea and is intended as a reminder for a peaceful navigation on the open seas. From above, the visitor has a beautiful view over the fjord and the Baltic Sea in clear weather. At the foot of the monument is the submarine u 995 as a technical museum. The movie "The Boat" takes place on a submarine, which, like u 995, belongs to the famous class vii c. A visit to u995 offers an impressive insight into the indescribable narrowness in which the submarines had to live for months. The Kiel Fjord is considered the sailing mecca ("Kieler Woche") par excellence. In the immediate vicinity are the Danish islands Langeland and Aero, the so-called "Danish South Sea".
