Small, extraordinary things that make life first class. Our family has had the pleasure to get to know this loving restored cottage, which dates back to the 1850’s. Its aged timbers whisper tales from times past, and the surrounding nature nods approvingly in response. We welcome you to come and listen. The space The space / about this listing The guesthouse of Bottom of the Pocket farm, Inside Pocket is a unique place for a down-to-earth, country style break. Here the rustic setting creates the feeling of oldie worldy luxury, nestling in the heart of authentic isolation. Seasons, nature’s miracles, tranquillity, the sounds of the forest, the gentle flames of the camp fire, the blissful feeling after a sauna, shooting stars, genuine people and good humour. What else could you need? Well, that can probably be arranged too. Guesthouse Inside Pocket is a 40 m² cottage situated in the grounds of the farm, by a woodland pond. •Charming cottage ideal for 3 to 4 persons, with a cooking corner (coffee maker, micro wave, electric plate, kettle and fridge), eclectic library, lounging corner and fire place •Old-style sauna with a free standing bath (including to the house rent) •A large roofed and furnished terrace for relaxing surrounded by flower beds and an orchard •A camp fire with amenities to create open fire gourmet •An outhouse with a pinch of luxury (no extra cost :)) •A hot tub and a smoke sauna (at additional cost) Drinking water is provided by a spring (10 l for star). Electricity runs and so does the water by the bucket full from the pond, even faster than the WiFi - our WiFi is slow, but exists nevertheless. Tour guide and local taxi services can be arranged for a extra fee. The main house Bottom of the Pocket is situated in the same grounds about 50 metres away from the guesthouse. In a walking distance there is also our other guest cottage Hill Pocket. The family consists of an enthusiastic host, an easy-going hostess, a cute little girl, a gentle hound, two cats and chicken ladies. Nice folk all of them. Joining in our company is welcomed but privacy is naturally also assured. Activities Inside Pocket is a perfect place for those looking for relaxed or more active holiday break. Lazy mornings, lounging in a comfy chair with a book, evenings by the fire under a starry sky, sauna followed by a dip in the pond guarantee relaxation to the fullest. Nature walks, fishing and events held at our active village Vuolenkoski keep those full of energy busy. Inside Pocket is a few minute walk from Kimola canal that leads to lake Konnivesi and further on to lake Päijänne. A nature trail starts from just around the corner of our farm and perfect sunsets can be caught from the cliffs overlooking the farm. The versatile facilities of the Sports Institute of Finland is a 15 minute drive away (vierumaki. fi). Vuolenkoski village is a haven for happiness and good humour. It was chosen as the Village of the Year at 2014 and rightly so; a village more active all year round is hard to find in Finland. 100 village events to be organised at 2017, farmers markets held every Saturday over summer time, Live Advent calendar and veteran tractor-pulling are only few events to mention organised by the energetic Vuolenkoski village.
