Rusty's House Kilifi
This little house in Kilifi has incredible views and is right on the beach front. What more could you ask for! Imagine your day starting with a swim in the ocean, stroll along an endless white sandy beach, then a delicious breakfast. Your morning could be spent with - kite surfing, snorkeling, skiing, or a visit to the town. The a Fresh seafood lunch, siesta by the amazing infinity pool and then watching the sun go down and moon come up before dinner! The space The master ensuite bedroom is upstairs with a gorgeous balcony that looks out over the endless beach, ocean and pool. Downstairs we have the kitchen, indoor dining, stores and a couple of sitting areas that open out onto the downstairs verandah with beautiful views. We also have two additional bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs in their own wing. One is a big double room ( with 2 single beds that can be pushed together if you want a double) and our third bedroom is small and cosy, although it does have a queen size bed it is a slight squeeze. (we recommend having one guest in it to be comfortable) We have also listed a 'sofa bed'. This is a lamu bed up stairs on the verandah where we can hang a mosquito net if required. Prior booking is necessary in order to prepare the bed. There is an extra charge for an adult using this facility. (Room with a view) :) We can also provide a baby travel cot with prior notice. There is no Air Conditioning but every room has a fan. Guest access The House is situated on a coral head with private steps down to the beach about 60 meters away from the house. Bofa road is about 100 meters behind the house where one can easily access tuktuks/motorbikes/taxis into Kilifi Town. The town and shops are a 10 minute car ride away but down the road, within walking distance, there is a small farm shop with some essentials. Salty’s kite surfing beach bar is a very short walk down the beach. Other things to note Some activities you might enjoy while staying at Rusty's. Goggling Surfing Beach Walks Reef Walks Sand Castle Building Jogging Sundowners In the house you will find a small information package with some restaurant recommendations, town info and contacts etc. Please also note and be mindful that while staying at Rustys you are in Africa! The house is built especially to catch the breeze and keep you cool, this means the some of the walls are built with breeze blocks and the windows have shutters, therefor insects, local small lizards known as Gekko’s (they eat the mosquitos!) and rarely small hedgehogs come and go easily throughout the house. Most are harmless and more frightened of humans than the other way around! (Plus they all play their part in nature and are necessary to the whole ecosystem!) Sometimes the monkeys and bush babies pop in on the look out for some tasty fruit/food - Please do not encourage them by feeding them or leaving any food too visible! Ask our staff for any assistance if needed.
