Old English Cottage in Chipping Warden

A rare opportunity to stay in a 16th Century converted grain store in the heart of the British countryside on the borders of Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire & Warwickshire. This beautiful two storey stone-built cottage is set in the North Cotswolds in a quaint little village called Chipping Warden. This is ideal walker’s country and we welcome dogs (not upstairs or on sofas please), and there are plenty of pubs within easy walking distance including a local village pub within 5 minutes walk. The space Conveniently situated 6 miles form the historic town of Banbury with shopping facilities, a Tourist Office, culture, a cinema and a mainline train station. Birmingham Airport is also just a short train ride away, with a bus service to the village of Chipping Warden. This is a rustic, no frills but cosy cottage. If you wish to feel like you are in the middle of the countryside, but within access of a big town, it will be perfect for you. Being 5 miles from the M40 and almost in the centre of the country the cottage is accessible from everywhere. The Cottage itself is sympathetically decorated to cater for a variety of guests. With a fully functioning kitchen with washing machine in the open plan ground floor, and upstairs there is a shower room and two bedrooms - one bedroom with a double bed, and another with two singles. The Cottage is situated in the grounds of a larger house with its own private garden for reading or relaxing in the sun, and oozes character, you just have to look at the photographs to get an idea of the idyllic situation. The space affords the ability to sleep four comfortably. There is space to entertain six comfortably with three sofas and a dining table & equipment for six, being ideal for those visiting friends in the area. There are many walks in every direction without the need to get into the car, details of which the host is more than happy to share with you. The larger house is only occasionally occupied, so much of the time you will be able to admire the ample gardens which are maintained to a high standard. The orchard and patio area may be inaccessible if the owners are in residence, but there is still a pretty private garden space behind the cottage. The cottage has its own driveway, which effectively marks out the delineation between the two houses. If you wish to venture out by car within an hour in various directions there is much to explore, from spa's to historic sights, from Oxford City & Shakespeare's Stratford to Bicester Village Shopping experience, many National Trust properties and country houses as well as Warwick Castle and Broughton Castle. Guest access The gardens surrounding the main house beyond the beech hedge, through the rose arch and beyond the well are private. Other things to note Please note, this is a country cottage and some areas have very high ceilings. The reason we mention this is that we have been made aware through some reviews that there are some spiders and spider webs (actually harmless daddy long legs) within the cottage. This is due to the ancient construction of the property and the thatched roof. We want you to note, that even though we try our hardest to stay on top of relocating any spiders outside it is impossible to stay on top of them short of using nasty chemicals or unnatural methods.
