Fully equipped detached house. Spectacular view on the Aegean sea, terrace, garden. Situated at the picturesque village of Sapounakeika. At a short drive/ walk from the beach. Fully equipped traditional cottage with a spectacular view on the Aegean sea. The cottage is situated on a small village that belongs to the municipality of Tyros. It is built on a hill and at a short drive or a pleasant walk from Tyros beach, where one can find all sorts of shops, an organized beach, bars, cafes and a variety of restaurants. Besides the main beach of Tyros there is a variety of individual beaches, organized and non-organized, where one can enjoy sea sports or a quiet swim on turquoise waters. The cottage is built on three levels. On the first level there is a cool and spacious bedroom that used to be a wine press and leads to a small stone made patio covered with the shady leaves of a vine tree. The first floor entails an independent bedroom that leads to a patio veranda and the front garden. In the main building, there is a large kitchen fully equipped, situated between the front patio and the back garden, a dining room and a front room that overlooks the sea. The top floor consists of three rooms. The ‘study’ that has a fire place and a study area with a stunning view of the sea and two bedrooms, a small and cozy bedroom that overlooks the back garden and the main bedroom which is the largest room of the house with the most stunning view. The top floor contains also a large veranda where one can sit down, sun bathe, relax, enjoy the breathtaking view of the Aegean sea, have dinner and watch the stars in the night. Suitability: suitable for couples, company of friends, children friendly, pets considered, events allowed, long-term renters are welcome, smoking allowed. Unsuitable for the elderly and disabled. Notes Tyros area has become one of the most popular destinations of southern Arcadia, because it combines a beautiful coast line with a large choice of individual beaches and the green hills of mount Parnon, where one can enjoy mount and rock climbing, wild life and agro tourism. It is at an hour drive from Mycenae and Nafplio, 20 km away from the picturesque town of Leonidion and 1hr and 1/2 drive from Mystras and Monemvasia. During the winter the house is heated by a wood stove and a small electric heater for the main bedroom. The owner will provide for short term visits (up to 7 days) 120 kg of wood, while for longer stays up to 240 kg of wood. Owner: Margarita Karkagianni Speaks Greek, English, French Guest access There will be somebody (either me or the people responsible for the house when I am away) that will meet guests at the village entrance (Sapounakeika) and guide them to the house. The meeting point is at Konatsi tavern at the village of Sapounakeika. Other things to note The house does not have a/c due to our concern for the effects of a/c for the environment. The house is equipped with ceiling fans (in the upper floor) and standing fans for the other floors and in general it has cool temperature. During the winter the house is heated by a very efficient wood stove and a fireplace for the top floor. For stays up to 7 days the owner will provide wood equivalent to 120 kg . For longer stays 2 weeks or more the owner provides 250 kg of wood. Any additional consumption is on the tenants. One can find wood in the nearest service station Shell at Tyros which is 5 minutes drive from the main parking area at the village of Sapounakeika. There is also an electric heater provided for the second bedroom and the bathroom. The house is a traditional stone made house with several external areas (gardens, patio) with tables and chairs, where one can sit and enjoy their coffee, tea, drinks or dinner. During the recent restoration of the house the owner tried to keep its traditional character, preserving the original wooden floor and stone surfaces. The house has wifi.
