Description

This cosy home is situated just a 10 minute, flat walk from the historic market town of Bakewell. Home to the Bakewell pudding and a perfect base for the rest of the Peak District. Ideal location for Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, both just minutes away. Granby sleeps four people making it the perfect retreat for couples or a family of four. You have access to various steaming services during your stay including Netflix. The space Granby has two individually designed guest rooms, both rooms feature King size - Queen Anne style beds. Each bedroom has plenty of storage for your clothes. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, with good water pressure. Thanks to a combi boiler – there is hot water available, whenever you need it. Better still, we provide all the bedding and towels to cut down on your packing and your washing! The Kitchen has an Electric Oven, Microwave, Gas Hob, Dishwasher, Fridge and Washing Machine. You might be in walking distance to the many pubs and restaurants Bakewell has to offer, but the kitchen has all you need to cook and prepare your own meals and the dining table easily seats four. The duel aspect living area, is bright and airy with an L shaped sofa and an arm chair, so there is plenty of room to get comfy after a day of Peak District fresh air. There is good Wi-Fi, TV, DVD player, Netflix, NowTV and Disney+. An Amazon Echo is available for you to enjoy your favourite music and radio stations. Tech not for you - no problem there are a large selection of DVDs, board games, books and magazines for you to use. Granby has a garden for you to enjoy during your stay. The back garden is lawned and there is a patio area with dinning / seating – perfect for a glass of wine on a summers evening or a relaxing breakfast. There is a drive to the front of the property, giving you free parking for two normal size cars. Unfortunately there is no provision for the charging of electric cars and charging cables must not be run from the house as this causing a significant trip hazard to the post man and others who may come to the front door. Bakewell does have some charging facilities. We love dogs and have one ourselves. However, we appreciate not everyone does. As such, you are very welcome to bring one dog (please inform us if you are doing so). For the comfort of other guests, please do not allow your four legged friend on the sofa or upstairs. If this will be difficult, with regret - this isn’t the right property for you. Dog towels are provided to help with muddy paws and there is an excellent dog walk right on the door step. Bakewell and the wider Peak District is very dog friendly, with most shops, pubs and cafes allowing dogs. As such we’d really appreciate it, if your dog is not left in the house unattended, especially if they may bark if left alone. Please do not leave your dog in the garden unattended, we cannot guarantee that the garden is secure. Guest access All the house is available to guess apart from one small room used as an office. Other things to note There is potential for some noise in the property, approximately 35 dB which you can hear if the property is quiet. The property is semi detached and the elderly lady next door is hard of hearing, as such you can hear her tv/radio through the wall. This has never caused us a problem and never woke us in the 18 months we lived in the property, however if you are a very light sleeper it may bother you and we would recommend sleeping in the bedroom over looking the garden which is a little more peaceful. We provide brand new soft foam ear plugs for all our guests - perfect if you have a travelling companion who snores.
