Venice Vibes In A Private Cottage With Separate Entrance

Description

Soak in the afternoon sun lounging on a bed swing or put on some classic vinyl. Eclectic cozy space (240 sq ft/22 square meters) has separate entrance & cozy backyard fire pit. 2 bikes available. 1.3 mi to beach. Everything you need for a short or long stay. It's comfortable and we are in the heart of Venice. About .5 miles to all the great restaurants and shops on Abbot Kinney and 1 mile to Venice beach. We are just off 'The Link' which is close to other shops, restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, coffee. (From a 5 minute to 15 minute walk). It's 240 sq ft or approx 24 sq meters in size. It's petit, but well-designed and comfortable. Really cozy. It's really not meant for more than 2 people and there isn't room to add an air mattress in the living area, so if you do ask if more than 2 people can stay, we will politely decline. We have had an infant stay in a travel size pack-n-play (which we can provide) and set up in the living area but that's really about the extent of additional bodies who can comfortably fit in the space. (The pack-n-play will not fit in the bedroom area). And this would have to be an infant who is not crawling or moving too much, otherwise it's really not enough space. Promise! We provide all of the obvious essentials - sheets, towels, shampoo, body soap, hand soap. And then in the kitchen we supply a few bottles of water, fresh ground coffee (with cream, sugar, and honey) and tea. Kitchen is equipped with fridge, stove top, and all the necessary cooking essentials (pots and pans, utensils, etc.) Now onto the bonus features... there are several good ones to tell you about. Get Ready. Bonus feature: the bed in our guesthouse is dreamy. You will get a great night's sleep on a very comfortable queen size bed, with a new, super-silent Mitsubishi wall unit (AC/heater_. While beach properties don't usually need much of either, we've found that with each passing year, we need a little more air conditioning on the hotter days. Also, with small spaces they tend to get a little bit warmer easier, so the A/C is a nice feature. Not many places by the beach have it, so we feel lucky! Bonus Feature #2 - we've had 2 engagements take place at our guesthouse this past year. We think that says something about our space. We're not sure what, but it's got to be good. Bonus Feature #3 - we've never had any pets in our guesthouse. While we love animals, we know some people have allergies, so we keep it pet-free at all times. Bonus Feature #4 - we offer fresh, white higher thread count linens, fluffy white towels, le creuset french press with fresh roasted coffee beans, Kiehls bath products, a well curated record collection and turntable, a few board games/playing cards and a set of art supplies for you to enjoy during your stay. Now onto other things.. Check in time is 4:00 with the option to drop bags whenever. Check out time is 11:00. We are definitely flexible with those times if we don't have others checking in or out. Just check with us and we'll be flexible whenever we can. You are more than welcome to hang out in our garden and take a spin on our swing at any time! Just pull the cover off and you're ready to go. We have 2 separate entrances for you. One on the side of the house and a back entrance through our alley behind our house. It's not the prettiest of allies, but it does the trick. We are available as much or as little as you would like us too. Also, let us know what you might need to make your stay more comfortable. If you want to know more about Venice or any part of LA, we have suggestions. We like food and entertainment so can be helpful on both fronts. Wanna surf or take a bike ride? We have suggestions. We've lived here a long time, all over town, so we are fairly in the know. Venice is happening and hip, with a unique character. It is home to many restaurants, shops, and coffee houses. Grab a bike and explore the neighborhood or head down to the beach nearby. We are a little over one mile from the beach. We are also about 0.3 miles to Abbot Kinney or a twelve minute walk at an average pace. Street parking. There's usually space anytime during the day on our street, but it may require a walk of a few minutes (less than 5 minutes typically). If it does become a problem, you can always block our driveway (which is O.K. for dropping bags, too). With each passing year, parking seems to get a little busier but in the five years we have lived here, we've never not been able to find a space on our street. It's unrestricted street parking at any time of day during the week on our street (no permits require and no silly signs to read about what days and times you can and can't park). Venice is known to be quirky. You may see harmless homeless people in our alley or out and about - it's just the nature of the neighborhood. There's nothing unsafe about the area. We also have some wildlife in our yard - namely squirrels and possums that may troll across the roof. Not to be alarmed, they too are harmless, but the love to run across our roof. Keep note of that!
