Enjoy amazing views, stunning sunsets and wake up to the sound of birdsongs at the Oak Lake Lakefront Cottage! The house is steps to the water where you can swim and enjoy lakeside views. The cottage is located 2hrs from Toronto/2.5hrs from Ottawa on a private family friendly spring fed lake with good swimming, fishing, and water activities. It is well located to explore the great conservation areas, wineries, breweries, markets, beaches, and golf courses of Quinte West and Prince Edward County. The space This lakefront retreat is set up to provide a relaxing and memorable getaway experience for all ages to unplug and unwind. The large lakeside deck and open dining area features a large window with stunning views to the lake. The view from the master bedroom is equally fantastic. A canoe is also available with two adult and two kids life jackets for use at your own risk (and subject to not being damaged by prior guest). There are three bedrooms, one queen bed with a lakefront view, one double bed with a garden view, and one twin bed with a pull out second twin bed with a yard view. There is a 4 piece bath, a kitchen equipped with basic appliances, dishware, and cooking tools. If you don’t feel like cooking while on holiday there is the Oak Lake Beach canteen (open on weekends until July and then everyday until Labour Day) steps down the road serving perfect cottage getaway food fare and all-day breakfast, including ice cream, freezies, homemade fries/poutine, burgers, etc. plus there are plenty of food options in Stirling, Belleville, and PEC. Enjoy a game of darts, checkers, ping pong, cards, and Trivial Pursuit or bring along your own board games. Off of the lakefront deck are steps into the sandy bottom lake for swimming. As well for our guests, from July until the Labour Day weekend, will have membership access to Oak Lake Beach just a couple of doors down. This little beach is owned and operated by the lovely family of the canteen, where there is a stretch of sandy beach and island dock to enjoy. Oak Lake Waterfront Cottage is a seasonal family cottage that we enjoy and rent out over the summer season. We hope that you have a wonderful stay here! Guest access There are two parking spots available. A public boat launch is located at the western end of Oak Lake. A guest info book, listing recommendations for food, drinks, sites and attractions around the area will be available inside the cottage. Other things to note - Booking are set for only Friday (7 night and some 3 night min/max) and Monday (4 night min/max) check-ins. If you would like to book for longer, please send me an inquiry. - We want to know a little about you and your group! As part of the booking, please provide some background information about yourselves when reserving, including your names, what you do, where you are coming from, the age of children if applicable, the nature of your trip/stay, and anything else you would like to share :) Please read and accept the rules and policies as part of your booking. - The cottage is serviced by lake water and therefore the water is not for drinking. Boil water for cooking. There will be 2 large drinking water jugs with dispenser provided per weeklong stay and 1 jug for shorter stays. Should more drinking water be required, the nearest Foodland grocery store is located just 5 mins away in Stirling. - The cottage is on a holding tank septic system, so please be mindful and limit water usage and no other products/items other than human waste and toilet paper are to be flushed down the toilet. - No shoes outdoor shoes in the cottage. Please take off shoes upon entering. Shoe trays are provided in the main entrance vestibule and lakeside entrance door. - One set of bath, hand, and face towels will be provided for each guest. Please remember to bring beach towels. - Guests are expected to bring their own personal supplies such as bath soap and shampoo. - In the kitchen, condiments and oil are not provided. Dish soap and basic cleaning supplies are provided. Corkscrew, bottle openers, vegetable peeler, grater, are some more particular items available. - Patio furniture cushions will need to be placed in the outdoor deck storage bin if it rains. - There is WiFi (50Mbps) - This is a family friendly lake, so no parties and events are allowed. - No smoking is permitted inside the cottage (including vaping and all forms of recreational smoking). Please be mindful of neighbours when smoking outdoors. - No loud music/sounds between 10pm - 9am. - The fireplace is turned off and not available for use during the summer season. - There is no guardrail along the lakefront deck. It is your responsibility to watch children and stay away from the edge of the deck. - The wood stairs and deck to the garage from the yard is off limits. Do not use or play on the structure as it is very old and in need of repair. - No fireworks are permitted on the property. - It is a sandy bottom lake, nice and shallow near the shoreline. Do wear water shoes as there are still snails, plants, and small rocks on the bottom. There is a clearer area for swimming near the shoreline steps however, there are taller weeds as you swim further out. - As for fishing, the lake is known for having crappie, northern pike, largemouth bass, sunfish, catfish and more. - With cottage life, there are bugs, spiders, mice, chipmunks, and critters around. Please keep the doors closed, food sealed in containers when not in use, and clean up food crumbs and spills. Fruit fly traps, liquid ant bait, and mouse traps can be found at the local hardware store should visitors appear. When the cottage is prepared we do our best to minimize the chance that you will not have an unwelcome visitor. - ALL guests are expected to do their dishes, remove all food, sort the garbage/recycling in the bins provided, move items back to original spots, and to leave the cottage tidy. - The canoe is available for guests to use at their own risk and subject to the canoe not being damaged by previous guests for further guest use. Please return the canoe to its saw horse station at the end of use. - Guests must be at least 25 years of age to make a booking. We require the names of all occupants and the ages of any children. - There will be a guest info book listing recommendations for food, drinks, sites and attractions around the area. - Check-out time is strict as the cleaner is scheduled to arrive at 11am. There will be a fee of $20 per quarter hour increment charged for late departures. Full day rate will be charged beyond 1 hr as this will affect the turnover for our next guest. - We hope you have a fun and relaxing stay!
