Samish Island is a unique community on a drive-on island 30 minutes south of Bellingham and minutes from the community of Bow-Edison. It lays in the quiet waters of Samish & Padilla Bays and is less than an hour from the Canadian/US Border from White Rock, B.C.; 1.5 hours north of Seattle, and 30 minutes northeast of Anacortes. People come here for winter birding, biking on the Samish and Skagit Flats, hiking in the Chuckanuts, kayaking, the Tulip Festival, for an eating extravaganza, curiosity shops, and artist galleries in Bow-Edison, or to launch an adventure into the North Cascades Mountains (1.5 hours). 1/2 mile away (10 min walk) is a great park and playground for the kids with a tennis court and basketball for the big kids! There is no public transit on the island. This is a rural area, so bring your car and/or bikes. Cellular service can be a bit spotty on the island so make sure to connect to our high speed wifi for full reception on data.
