AIRD VILLA, Scalpay, on the Isle of Harris
AIRD VILLA, Scalpay, on the Isle of Harris
Description
Aird Villa with its south facing decking is said to be one of the nicest houses on the Isle of Scalpay. It sits overlooking Scalpay’s quiet North Harbour where the local fishing boats are moored. From the decking it's exhilarating watching the birds & boats as you are more or less right above the water's edge. The house has been renovated to a very high standard and is comfortable, light, spacious & warm. It has a modern clean feeling coupled with the charm of a traditional Scalpay island home. The space Aird Villa is in a quiet and peaceful location at the very end of a cul-de-sac. The property is ideal for a family of up to 4 members, or 1 or 2 couples, and 2 well behaved dogs. There are 2 ensuite bedrooms: the downstairs bedroom has a large double bed (150cm x 200cm), and the bedroom upstairs has 2 single beds, and there is a portable babies cot. The ensuite bathroom downstairs includes a bath, and a shower with sliding doors. The ensuite bathroom upstairs also has a shower with sliding doors. There is a large sitting room, with a dining area, a very well equipped open plan kitchen, separate downstairs toilet, utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and spacious hall area. The front door leads outside onto the large decking area that looks out across the quiet fishing boat harbour. We provide child safety gates for the stairs and a high chair, as well as the portable babies cot. Even though the property is situated on free roaming croft land, Aird Villa itself is secure and sheep free as it has fencing and a beautiful hand-built stone wall all around its perimeter. You access Aird Villa through its front gate which enables 3 or 4 cars to park in a line on its driveway. The front gate is 278cm wide. Aird Villa also does its best to be Green. Luckily in Scotland a majority of all electricity generated is from renewable sources and so Aird Villa uses electricity for all its energy requirements and is heated by its efficient electric radiators. We have endeavoured to make the house comfortable and cosy with little luxuries that add to your stay such as good books, warm throws, bathroom treats….and more….including a few things for the kids to play with. There may be some groceries too, for example porridge, pasta, oil, and herbs & spices in case you're short of essentials when you first arrive. We ask that you replenish the foodstuffs you use as appropriate. We request no smoking. Aird Villa can comfortably accommodate up to four people, and the maximum number of dogs allowed is two. Also, our furry friends must not be allowed onto any furniture or beds. We invite you to come and explore the wildness of magnificent Harris and to unwind, relax and just be.
