Artist’s home, Guest Suite, Tadcaster

We are NOT in the city of York, but a separate town 9 miles away, just to clarify. We moved to this characterful house in Tadcaster 5 years ago, slowly renovating with a ‘Fawlty Towers’ vibe. This room is on the first floor and is en-suite. We are happy to host families with little children on the sofabed and dogs if they’re ok with our cat? Tadcaster is halfway between Leeds & York with many local historic towns for exploring and several wedding venues close by for revellers. The space This is a very characterful house which we are renovating and as artists, there’s always lots of creative projects on the go. Guests are welcome to use our shared spaces but the middle floor is for guests with 2 bedrooms, this one en-suite with a dressing room as well. This is a big room with lovely sash windows overlooking the garden. It has a kingsize bed and also has a sofa bed if needed for extra sleeping space. The sofa bed is ideal for 2 young children or one adult, but not ideal for extended visits. Tea, coffee and herbal teas available in the room and a little fridge if required, but you have the run of the house kitchen too. Breakfast of cereals & toast included between 7.30-9.30ish. All dietary requirements catered for so let me know what suits and if you’d like a Full English or cooked brecky let me know beforehand. We use lovely local produce and it’s a ‘pay-as-you-feel’ donation. We are happy to accommodate children and we can add a travel cot for little ones and can try to welcome dogs, except they’d have to be cat friendly and tolerant of our very feisty terrier! If attending events, weddings, work or festivals at local venues we can be flexible in arrangements to suit requirements so just get in touch for a chat about your plans? A local taxi company can be arranged for transport and has a minibus, but we are usually on hand for local lifts too. Guest access Guests can use communal spaces and guest floor and we will be here to welcome them in and show them around. We give a spare key so guests can come and go at their leisure.
