A beautiful light filled French-inspired Retreat in the Countryside. "The Suffolk House" is perfectly suited for families looking to relax and spend time together in comfort and style. A holiday home from home, ideal for multi-generation family get togethers, with large sociable dining areas both inside and out, and also secluded, quiet corners to relax. Whether you come with family or friends, it is the perfect place to slow down, reconnect, and create lasting memories. The space Welcome to "The Suffolk House" - a countryside retreat with spacious, light-filled rooms, where English charm meets the elegance of French style. Nestled in a peaceful rural setting, the house is designed for families who want to enjoy time together but also have the space to spread out and relax in the spacious living areas and gardens. The house is decorated in soft, neutral tones creating a peaceful and calm impression, while touches of organic earthy tones, lavender and stone are a backdrop for colour pops of artwork adding an unmistakable French flair. The living area is the heart of the house, an inviting space with deep sofas, cozy throws, and conversational corners. For those who love to cook, the kitchen is spacious and fully equipped, featuring a large farmhouse table, perfect to enjoy sociable dinners or a slow Sunday breakfast. The kitchen flows easily through to the living area and also to the dining hall, where the long table can be more formally set for a special celebratory meal. The bedrooms all feature crisp white linens, deep duvets, and gentle colours creating peaceful spaces where you can truly unwind. Each room has its own personality with vintage armoires, romantic beds, ornate mirrors or upholstered ottomans but all share the same dedication to comfort and charm. The very special Master Suite includes its own private balcony overlooking the gardens, with a dreamy wrought iron daybed - the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets. French-style double doors open onto a wisteria covered sunny terrace and wonderful views of the gardens. The countryside is right on your doorstep. The location offers the best of both worlds... within easy reach of charming villages, local markets and historic sites and also vineyards, bluebell woods and coastal walks. You might spend a morning browsing a farmers’ market, wine tasting at the local vineyards, or, for the more active, cruising the River Stour in a kayak. Popular local family friendly activities include farm visits with tractor rides, canoeing, archery and bush survival activities. Whatever you choose, after a day exploring, you can return to your peaceful country retreat to relax with a good book or an afternoon nap under the wisteria. At The Suffolk House, children can run free in the garden, entertaining themselves with a fully netted trampoline, garden games, table tennis or badminton tournaments. They can collect flowers, herbs and fresh eggs for the table. At night, the lack of city lights reveals Suffolk's famous wide sky with a breathtaking canopy of stars—perfect for lighting the fire pit and roasting marshmallows in the fairy lit courtyard. Whether you’re here for a week or a weekend, The Suffolk House is more than a place to stay—it’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and create lasting memories.
